No…All banks have done this on all accounts..No AMB need to maintain for 3 months…It’s an RBI directive…

P.S. Not all banks have sent this to their customers but since it’s an RBI directive, you don’t need to maintain the AMB for 3 months…

I have received this emails only from HDFC but all Indian banks are offering this as it’s from RBI

Don’t defer any kind of bill payments…Interest amounts will continue to accrue on the outstanding portion of your EMI/Credit facility during the moratorium period…So, even if you are allowed to pay your bills 3 months later, you will have to pay high interests later…

Yes it’s of no use…But RBI has intentionally NOT mentioned this anywhere on their notice…And I have seen lots of customers are requesting/asking on twitter to all the banks’ support channels to provide them the moratorium…None of these people know that, they will have to pay high interest after 3 months…

RBI should have made it clear that, the interest amounts will continue to accrue but unfortunately they did not…

And customers don’t read the fine prints on the banks’ sites…They are thinking Govt has made this facility for free…

Only after 3 months, customers who deferred their bill payments will get a shock when they will see the huge interest added in their bills…Then they will get furious over their banks…

All credit card customers taking benefit of moratorium are going to get a big shock with 40% interest

What I meant was, there is no need to get an email confirmation from the banks as our FM has already made it clear…All banks & all customers will fall into this doesn’t matter banks send any email or not…

“Charges for cash withdrawal from other bank ATMs and penalties for non-maintenance of minimum balance amount in bank savings accounts have been waived for 3 months. This was announced by the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in a media press briefing to address concerns regarding the impact of the coronavirus on the economy.”

About Current Accounts I am not sure…

Yes I also didn’t get any such email from ICICI, Kotak, DBS, Yes Bank etc but this offer is applicable on all banks as this is from the FM herself…It’s upto the banks if they want to intimate about this to their customers or not…I think some banks didn’t intimate about this because many people will try not to maintain their AMBs & banks won’t have any benefit with that if many people stops maintaining their AMBs…Some banks may also have assumed that, since it’s from the FM itself, so there is no need to email all the customers because customers should already know this…
