The thing is they charge some .5 -1 % extra when u pay at any fuel station.
To avoid this, always make sure they are using HDFC’s POS machine.
They will charge you that 1% or whatever is the extra amount but within a day or two they do credit amount in your statement.

Obviously, it clarified my doubt. Then why this hdfc bank giving me mails and message to do fuel payments through credit card. For 2-3 credit points, I need to lose 10/-. Any way thanks bro smile

This is not specific to HDFC & it is applicable for mostly all Credit Card payments.
We need to swipe/tap the card on the POS terminal (machine) issued by that specific back, e.g., HDFC card on HDFC terminal, CITI on CITI terminal, etc.
Moreover, some cards have minimum transaction criteria even it is used on the correct machine.

I always use Paytm and PhonePe to pay fuel, never pay directly via credit card.
Using Amex reward card, so adding money to Paytm also give me points biggrin
