I have around 30K worth of HDFC Diners points which would be reduced on 15th Aug. Let me know any trick through which I can convert them to cash / extend it.
Already did a lot of Recharge for myself and friend at discount.

One small doubt, can I generate a voucher of the total amount of points I have (to consider the points that got added after statement date), or do I have to generate a voucher of only the points given on website. What happens if I generate for more? @@@DealSeeker@@
It will allow to redeem only points generated until last statement
Shouldn’t they change the number of points based on value similar to how they change it when they upgrade cards? It’s pretty bad that the value of already earned points is being lowered.
This is usual whenever there is a card devaluation, bro. But you can try your luck/negotiation with customer support.

Just wondering – if somebody gets upgraded from Premium to Black on say 14th Aug 2017:
1 Will his points get devalued..? 
2 When exactly will his points expire: 2 Yrs from 14th Aug’17 OR 2 yrs from respective dates points were earned on the old variant..?

They had put info abt devaluation wef 15th Aug on their website sufficiently in advance…
They are well within their legal rights to ‘devalue the value of each point’ anytime though preferably with advance intimation… This parallels closely with how banks reduce home loan interest rates for new customers while continuing to charge old customers higher rate largely by playing on the “spread” rather than reducing “Base Rate”… Point being that all this is possible due to the structuring of the offer and very much allowed legally and very much known to and agreed by customers contractually… 🤔

What i feel we are creditors for the company ( hdfc diners promotion co .) … whatever points we have is recorded in their financials as a liability… they cant reduce their liability just by displaying a message on their website.. when they can provides info on their products thorugh email.. consumer do have a right to receive on email abt value reduction.. well i have never been to consumer forum, i believe this is right time to knock the door n learn smth..
People are free to challenge what they think or believe to be unfair… that’s why courts and forums exist-and rightly so!! 
Observation: Courts usually go by evidence, logical reasoning and contractual agreements… bu their judgments sure can potentially influence future policies and contracts…?
Btw, convincing people is difficult-and typically take significnat time, energy and investment… So personally i believe in and suggest picking up pr pursuing battles only which are worthwhile and with odds staked largely in favor of us…:)

Does anyone know what is the validity of reward points? How with recharge and movie ticket redemption gone, there’s very little scope to use reward points.

“Reward points validity Reward points are valid only for 3 years from the date of accumulation. ex:- if you receive reward points in May 2015, same will expire in May 2018.”
