Hello dimers, I have opened a HDFC savings account on September,2019 and 6 months already passed still no credit card offer. I maintain 15k AMB I pay my 5K SBI Credit Card bill every month from my HDFC Debit Card and have 760 CIBIL Score but stll I havenot got any Credit Card Offer. 3 days back I applied for HDFC credit card through my NetBanking and they rejected my application on very next day without any reason. And they also made a Hard Inquiry on my CIBIL. So How to get pre-approved offer.

Ok I already have SBI Simplyclick card which have amazing reward points for online spends. I do all my family monthly expenses on this card. 3k electricity bill every month through Amazon (300 points for ₹75), ₹150 Dth recharge(Amazon), 1k Lic premium(Phonepe), 500-1000 medicine from Apollo. So I don’t use my HDFC debit card much if I use HDFC card then I will loose lots of reward points.
Ok I’ll go with FD way make a 25k FD then wait for 3-4 months.

I’m a current account holder at HDFC. Transactions of more than 50L+, 2 yrs old account, though no requirement of AMB, but usually on an average bal is around 50-70k. Still no pre-approved card offer smile

Though I don’t need it anyways. ICICI gives pre-approved card offer easily.

How is your credit score ?? I am sure bank would be checking that along with your relationship with them ….

Also, which account do you hold with them .. if it’s classic or Imepria, contact your RM and they can help with credit card approvals .

I never asked for HDFC CC, as I have plenty of cards such as SBI SC, CITI PAYTM, AMEX CHARGE CARD+CREDIT CARD, KOTAK ROYALE SIG, ICICI APAY+HPCL CORAL and more. Never had a need for HDFC card so they never did CIBIL on me. Don’t know which current, but it is the one which allows foreign remittance unlimited trxs, no fee DC, no AMB requirement (apart from 3-4 months initially that RM told me), I remember when we signed up for it, RM gave us higher level current account. My credit score is above 790 with no defaults.

There are multiple criteria that would check. I meant that bank would probably do soft pull on their own before giving you a “pre-approved” offer. . Having multiple cards could be a factor too.
If you want a card, don’t rely on pre approved offer, talk to RM and they will help get approvals if you are eligible.

I had an HDFC card that I had closed 7-8 years back. RM told me that was the reason that I was not getting any “pre-approved” card offers online since I had held hdfc credit card in past. I applied through branch and received it.

@Pallab1997 why r u so desperate for hdfc credit card?? always remember gud things come to those who wait…. i got my hdfc cc in within 3 months from opening hdfc agri savings account … i made some huge transactions in first 3 months… i had no cibil history and ITR of 3 lakh… i got CC limit of 75k … basically hdfc considers ur transactions so u need to make some gud amount credit n debit…

my younger brother opened savings acc in january, he did not put a single penny in his acc for 10 months, not a single transaction and in the october he got a call from bank and they gave him a moneyback card with 30k limit…

hdfc is the most generous bank in giving credit cards.. i do not how u got unlucky… do not open a FD for hdfc credit card, make big transactions in ur account for 6 months straight and then apply again… DO NOT APPLY FOR CC ONLINEAPPLY THROUGH PHYSICAL MODE

@Pallab1997, Maintain atleast 25-30k plus do an FD of the same amount if possible…You will get the pre-approved offers early…Also you can manually apply for Moneyback using your salary slip/ITR or on card to card with your SBI card…I also got my Moneyback using the SBI card…

I didn’t want to wait for the pre-approved offer so I applied for the Moneyback card within just 15 days of opening the savings account with HDFC & got the card easily within just 7 days after applying with the help from a customer care person on phone…They didn’t even do any sort of phone or physical verification for me…

Last November, 2019 I got the upgrade offer to Regalia showed in my netbanking but I became late in claiming the free upgrade as HDFC neither sent me any email or SMS regarding the available upgrade offer & I’m now waiting for them to show it again..

Better you apply directly using your SBI card from the branch but since they just rejected your card application when you applied via netbanking, you may have to wait another 3-6 months to start applying for it again…

I shouldn’t have applied through NetBanking better should have applied directly through branch 😭. The person who opened my account 6 months back I asked him while opening account that can I get a credit card while I’m a student without income. He told me either you have to hold an existing credit card or your account must have to be minimum 6 months old. That time he told me to come after 6 months he’ll get me a card without any income proof. Because of my branch very far from my home I’ve applied through NetBanking. Now I’ll try to make a 25-30k FD and wait for few months. Let’s see.

Never tell bank employees that you are a student without income…Always say that you are self-employed…By hearing “no-income” bank employees generally don’t show interest in giving cards…

You can also get Moneyback using your existing SBI card & making an FD “may” get you pre-approved offer but it’s still not guaranteed…So, it’s always better to apply manually…if you apply card on card basis, you won’t have to provide any kind of income docs…When they ask you how much your salary is or how much your ITR is, simply mention to them that you are a self-employed person & you want to apply based on your existing card…

Best of luck… smile
