I am applying for passport and currently living in a rented house. I came to know that for address proof we need to provide registered rental agreement. I have agreement that is e-stamped(I guess that will not work). Please suggest what to do. I need it in less time.

@ḾᾍJἘşṬίḉ Buddy, for Address Proof, as far I know you just have to provide any of Government ID having your Address mentioned on it. Rental Agreement is not necessary in case you have any of those Govt IDs.

All of my IDs have my native address and its far form current location, can’t travel atm.
You can apply at any psk using your native address.
As per Indian rules and regulations, an applicant is required to mention the permanent address in a passport application to prove his/her credential. A temporary address may change but permanent address won’t. That is required to know the genuineness of the applicant. It remains in the record.
A police verification may be triggered at the permanent address and one can’t question it.
One must cooperate with the police station if police verification is triggered, else passport issuance may be denied
If you are working and have any SBI/any other accepted bank Account, then get a HR letter from your office confirming your current residence address. Have two copies of this HR letter, Take one HR letter to SBI or any nationalised banks in the accepted addresses list, get your address updated and proceed with applying passport. Hope you are aware that bank account should be some x months old. and you may use the second HR letter while applying for passport as backup address proof for police.
Any idea what’s the probability of accepting HR letter of address proof as psk? I already have letter from my company but its private(but reputed 
)

Online filling up application doesn’t need any uploads. Fill in the details and submit with necessary fee and then take appointment with PSK. U can go ahead with your permanent address and most probably the police verification, if comes, you can attend on Sat/Sun and that too if anyone known at the police station, it won’t be a problem.
Most important: In case you are mentioning Aadhaar as POA, you have to carry the full Aadhaar card received from the authority as it carries your date of issuance. Only the cut-off portion for the aadhaar card will not be accepted.

I updated address in axis bank via netbanking. They doesn’t need any kind of documentation to do that. Got passbook after that.
