A renter has been creating huge problems for my parents. He and his family are not poor ppl, 2 of their family has jobs and kids are studying in private school and college!
But they have stopped paying rents for 6 and half months + excessive electricity bills!
They had even chased out the renter next door and chases away any ppl who come to see.
3 days back, he had even verbally abused my mom and me.. dad doesn’t want to go to police but I wanted to.
Is there any legal way to evict them out by the end of this month?

Any rent agreement signed by both ?! U still hold their advance with yu right ?! Why are they not paying rents suddenly ?! Were they paying before ?! Also legal system takes so much time and cannot be done immediately as I have seen these cases happened for my frnds family as well

We had made agreements b4 but ONLY this time, my dad forgot to made agreement with :/
Had 2 months advance but used up.
They are entering 1 year. For 5 months they paid then suddenly stopped, saying they had financial problem but now we met other ppl (renters) who knows them said they do this sh*t to wherever they stayed and end up running away with paying bills for 2-5 years.
The last landlord had evicted them by selling the land to builders ☹
P.S they don’t have financial difficulties. Just celebrated a big anniversary party 2 months back 😑

Exactly, make your family comfortable/agree for this first.

This is tested formula. For better results approach through a nice middleman, know to both, yourself and the goon.

What I may advice might be brutal but that’s the realistic way of solving things like these. Since u do not have agreement in place , mostly u cannot proceed this legally by law lots of complications u will get … If they do things like these everywhere they are sure to have some support behind it… Unless u have support in police u cannot solve this mutually…. If u think u have support in police then proceed like they have intruded ur property even though ur agreement period ended… Like I tell you clearly again only if u have support in the system… They will come for a mutual closure at some point… Also one more suggestion if after discussions they decide to leave… Let them go… If u expect money fr these months they stayed it’s very hard to get and ur making process of them leaving ur house taking more time as well

Have you installed a separate electric meter for the tenant?
If yes, then don’t pay the bill. What he would do without electricity.

As there is no rent agreement, you don’t have any options. But you can consult a Civil lawyer.

Tenants need to be put on notice that late rent will get them a 7 – day notice to quit premises from the Police, or however it works in your locality. The problem with late rent, is that rent is often their biggest bill. If they can’t produce one month’s rent now, what are the chances that they will come up with two month’s rent in a few weeks? People who fall behind on rent have a very hard time catching up. They need to understand that rent comes first: before cable, before car payment, before credit cards, before the phone bill… pay the rent on time, or be homeless.

I have faced a similar problem in past and it took 5 years to evict the tenant… somewhere it was my mistake too as hired a wrong advocate….but don’t fear just approach a good lawyer and send them a notice to evict the house within 1 month or tell the lawyer to show them as a trespasser as they also don’t have a copy of agreement

My parents are willing to let these troublemakers go without paying bills but the problem is they’re not getting out.
I had a talk with an electrician and plumber. Will cut off the supply by tomorrow. But theres a well too so water problem won’t have much affect.
And my dad had an old friend in the police, he retired 7 years ago. Now we don’t know any police and its sad but the current police station situation is not good, had a very uncomfortable time when I went there last year for passport verification ☹

Nothing will happen unless you make a police complaint. Preferably give complaint in women’s police station. Try to record any audio when they are denying the rental payments.

I think instead of not paying the bill, better option would be to have the Electricity and Water connections temporarily/permanently disconnected until they vacate.
These two connections are usually in the name of owner and renter can’t even have them reinstated or get new one installed without proper documentation.
At the same time, send them a legal notice to vacate premises in 7 days through a good lawyer dealing in these matters.
Personally, I won’t get into a court case as that is a really long process and signals the tenant that now he has all the time to use house until court case gets resolved. It can be 2, 5 or 10 years. The tenant won’t bother to pay a single rupee rent at all in such a case.
A lot of people even seek help of tantriks (or similar folks who don’t necessarily do evil to others but are actually help) to evict tenant in such matters…

throw garbage in front of the house, cut electricity, do black magic things at night. create all inconveniences so that they leave.

Record a video when he abuse you or your family. It would help you to file a police complaint if required in future.

Even a spy camera app can be used to record their statements… and then produced before police or lawyer

There’s separate meters but if the line gets cut due to non payment of bill then during reinstalling charges a heavy fee about 1500.
Asked an electrician to cut down electricity tho… lets see.

Dad found the agreement! he actually made it but forgot!
It was for 11 months!
And they’re entering 1 year now.

They are not vacating your property, haven’t paid rent for 6 months and 1500 looks a heavy price to you? flushed
Are you even serious?

If i make a police complain, it’ll not turn into a court case right??
I would like to avoid cases as it takes long years and they would still remain there without paying a single paisa!
