@Troll @akhilsharma1664795 @sidbhai @gotrajk @Spock @KuttaJi @Navneet @punitdd @Jairajguys, i have summed up 35k for investment, my mom says FD would do, but i think fd wont get me good returns. Any plans? is there any asset i can invest in? how healthy is stock market?
FD might be safe one, but higher the risk higher the profits. I invested some Rs.20,000 in quality stocks when Nifty index was at 6950 , diversifying my portfolio by buying eight different quality stocks of different sectors. Now my profit is approx 5500 or my investment is at Rs.25,500
What matters > Right time entry , selecting Right Stocks
Stocks i selected ???
SBI @ 152
Axis Bank @ 400
Tata Motors @ 292
Ashokley @ 82
Tata coffee @ 84
Tata Global Beverages @ 102
Rel Infra @ 402
SAIL @ 34-35
More Stocks i would have considered if i would have more capital…
Welspun India
YesBank
Tata Steel
Cadilla Health & more….

Probably, looking at high returns, i would be going for Mutual Funds Please check the link and tell me more on these. Can the money be withdrawn once invested at any time during the time period.

I would tell you to buy a diversified MF instead ELSS fund, because ELSS is for tax saving under 80c with lock in period 3 years.
buy ICICI Prudential Value Discovery Fund in 35k for good return.
http://www.moneycontrol.com/mutual-funds/nav/ic...
you can redeem non ELSS MFs anytime at the price of end of day NAV .
if it sounds risky(to get more return take more risk) then divide your 35k in two parts and invest in stocks/MF/ETFs and debt funds/coporate FDs like http://stfc.in/deposit...px which has interest 8.75%/year in cumulative.
Compare MFs in different sectors in with CRISIL rank
http://www.crisil.com/capital-markets/crisil-mf...
I myself invest 30k in ICICI diversified MF.
hope this helps
as the OP is young, I’m assuming that investment is for long term purposes.
for a very small investor, 500-1000 pm, PPF and Flexi Rd are the best options.
a slightly more ambitious option is combination of RD with NPS. Among all mutual funds, NPS has the least cost option. one can use only NPS Tier I or NPS Tier I + NPS Tier II combination
thanks @panchabhut and @punitdd
