Here’s more proof that you shouldn’t take all Indian online festive offers at face value
A data analyst compared list prices of products before and during the sales and found that the mega 50% to 80% discounts were ‘in name only’.

Bro, suggest a price tracker to use for desktop.
VD, self-promotion
I use this site https://pricehisto...n/
Most often, it is not the 70,80% offers that people shop for, but rather the small discounts alongwith cards+ cashbacks, specially for electronics, big appliances etc. I m sure these eletronics form the biggest part of these sales.
Amazon usually gives good offer of 10% off + 1000cb on 5000 for fashion purchases.
Otherwise, if you will track the price, you wont find much difference. It is in these extra discounts+cards+cashbacks that the sale becomes useful for.
Forgive the article writer, he don’t know where and how to make the best out of it. In front of a dimer, he’s a newbie at best.
most sales item have 15-20% addl discount than normal price. even the aricle itself proces that. add the extra cashback due to various card offers and the price difference becomes significant. but that is only for those rational buyers who want to buy specific items, keep that in wishlist and then use the benefit of sale. for the compulsive buyers, just word “sale” is enough to buy things they do not even need.
