As I looked into my online sbi transaction history, I notice 2 transactions debited to amazon but only those days I didn’t even buy or recharge anything and I even checked my sms and there were no bank otp sms either! I thoroughly checked and there was nothing I paid for those amount!
I’m so confused and scared how these transactions even done and who knows if there were earlier such transaction made.
How to ask sbi to give further details on those transactions and if possible return my money?

I didn’t install any bank apps. Someone said they are used by hackers to access username and password ):

Better look at ur Amazon order history and match with amount deducted from SBI account
SBI is safe and ask for OTP before any transaction

already did that and sbi isn’t safe anymore either when the staff themselves are involved ):
Remember one Indian idol runner up contestant’s money was taken out from her sbi account 2 years back from one of Guwahati branch. The money was not recovered. It’s sad cuz she was a child from a lower income family.

One amt is 102, the other is 283. I checked every amazon transaction but there was no such amount either bought or recharge and I didn’t even do any transactions on those particular days – 1st march and 23rd march ):
I checked from this month till december last year and no such other ghost transaction happened, excluding these two.
Its scary tho what if the amount increased 😢

some times when you txn on Amazon on Sunday and Monday/Tuesday too holiday then that particular txn date will be Wednesday/Thursday…in Bank stmt.
So match with Amazon txns and other purchases where AmazonPay is used, also you may have used Apay+SBI in that case actual purchase value is not 102/-..so u have to match with all txns during those days+/-4days.
I too felt the same and after rigorous reconciliation found to be my txn which I totally forgot. And now I maintain a ledger in Excel

I don’t know why would anyone hack your account for such small amounts. First check if anyone from your family has done these transactions. Otherwise visit the branch tomorrow.

What kind of transaction is it upi, debit? I don’t think Amazon India could charge someone without otp.

Register complaint with Amazon, give them transaction id

Raise a complaint if you think they are unauthorised/fraudulent transactions, most probably they are not. No payment goes thru without otp or ATM pin (few sites) SBI or any otr bank for that matter is safe. I’ve had instances where money was deducted after a few days(doesn’t show in available balance but in ledger balance)

Looks like a link from a 3rd party app.. You only need a password to link 3rd party apps like swiggy not OTP or anything and then just press approve for payment..

But the amounts will show up in your amazon pay order transaction.. Now if it was taken to pay at amazon then your SBI card has no CVV number.. Old card?? But it still needs OTP..

I think Amazon will also split the bills depending on order shipped.. So you could have bought a bunch of things for like 600 and if they shipped it in 3 orders it will be charged as 100, 200, 300 for the 3 shipments.. But this is not always.. For a while there amazon had this charging you only when the item was shipped.. Now they charge full amount and refund if item is cancelled and not shipped..

many options because amazon changes things around all the time.. When ever I went to order payment page I would get an OTP.. For weeks I wondered WTF.. then removed the card from amazon and the OTP’s stopped.. Even complained to them but they did not do anything. New SBI card has CVV and chip so this don’t happen.

Recently in the last couple of weeks Amazon will sent OTP to link your account to any 3rd party site. But for payment it wont ask any password or OTP.. There are programs that will steal your cookie from your login and they can use it to bypass and link it to their own browser but all this is not easy..

Stop going to strange sites.. Even seeing pics or music etc on your browser can give away data..

AMAZON.COM will not ask for OTP or password.. The charge will just show up.. But the transaction will show up as amazon.. Are you sure this is amazon.in and not amazon.com? I think most others except amazon.in will not ask for OTP or password but I only have used amazon.com.. Its a nail biting experience since they only ship once a week and I want to know much they are charging and I don’t get an SMS or anything and the charge just shows up and I have to wait for a month before finding out..

All Amazon sites uses same login credentials.. I would also suggest to login to amazon.com and check transactions..

I changed password on amazon.in and could not login to amazon.com since that also changed even though I wanted 2 separate logins which is not possible.. Unless I want to use 2 different email’s..
