i’m not using…
Me too , don’t even have an account .
I dont use it, uninstalled it almost 1.5 years ago
Used it for a while. Once it became popular everyone with my phone number started sending me forwarded jokes and messages. People I barely knew. Bleh.
I do however plan to get a new phone number shared only and only with my friends and family and get whatsapp installed on that.
Yes I don’t…
Hike is the best with cool stickers & also Free sms to those who aren’t on Hike adds up to the party.!
I dont use whatsapp. I love my privacy from free msgs.
I don’t either
I use it for international calls and dear ones.

very true, besides what @nsinghal said is the biggest scare. no matter how much one wants to save, after a while all conspiracy theories, if you are true Indian forward it to , useless stuff starts flooding. Was once in some profession related e-mail group and was very difficult to unsubscribe or change email address (more than a decade now)
I am not on whats app……

yup! smarter phones don’t have all those khit-pit !
I don’t use. Infact most of the friends I have hate whatsapp. Recently I installed in my lumia only to find voice calls don’t work so uninstalled immediately.
I guess those who were born during yahoo chat/sms/gtalk/orkut/fb era (in 30-40y range) still dont like whatsapp and 15-25 can’t live without it. Telling by own experience.
I am 40+. Do not use whatsapp.
Use Viber and LINE extensively for text, voice calls, video calls and file transfers. Have been using then since last 3-4 years, from the time WA did not even support anything other than text and photo. Still using them as
1. both Viber and LINE supports dedicated access from both PC and Phone which WA does not provide
2. WA uses far more data for the same services
3. too much junk comes in WA
4. Viber and LINE support paid calls to any number anywhere in the world at very little cost.
5. WA is less secure

+1 I can’t live without it.
Although I have used all the services you mentioned above for around 3-4 years until I installed WhatsApp on my phone.

Am just a few years younger than 30 but have tried everything new (tech) at launch including FB & twitter but just like you said I do hate whatsapp mainly because it’s always ON.
I wanna remain anonymous (or private) anytime & anywhere I possibly can but the only way to do so is to stay off smartphone messengers

Let’s add ICQ and AIM to that list. By the way, I have always found instant messengers to be more of an annoyance than a convenience. But everyone has their opinions and behaviors. I just wish there were a way to discreetly add only those people to your “circle” who do not enjoy sending multiple messages everyday to their friends as well as friends of friends. #SMH
Whatsapp groups sounds like a good idea, but anybody can add anybody from what I hear so it goes downhill pretty fast. If I am ignorant of some facts, or if you have any suggestions for me, please do voice them.
Everyone has thier own perspective..
Whatsapp gets u an easy approach ( cost free ) , Immidiate sharing of images/videos ( remember the hassle of MMS’ing some1 with that extra cost ? ) .. Many dint have the mms enabled phones either..
Now it has calling feature too.. So it saves time, saves money and makes ur work easier..
But as all of u Stated, it makes u addicted and takes hell lot of time and it breaches the privacy and disturbs u in ur freedom/comfort zone..
So, its upto you how u make use of it..
Its more like discussing " technology : A curse or a boon"
The pro’s and con’s of technology/invention
I am a avid whatsapp user and cant live without it, Similarly, i dont use Facebook at all, no twitter, no instagram.. So its totally upto you whether u want to use the technology to get some use out of it.. OR You want to use the technology and spoil urself .. OR u do not want to use the technology and at all and want to refrain urself from all the facilities provided considering all those comfort factors..
So it’s totally an individual’s point of view..
My take on this ? Do give it a shot who are saying that they hv not used it at all
