I seriously don’t know anything about credit cards.
When we have to pay bills?
No cost EMI limit is attached with this limit?

1 Bill should be paid on or before due date. Due date is mentioned in statement.
For example: statement generated on 2nd of August, and due date is 21st August(It’s just for illustration, actual may vary). Banks give max 45-50 days of interest free period, it varies from bank to bank. You should always pay Total Due Amount mentioned in monthly Statement. Also check all txns.

2 yes.

2. So if I buy something on no-cost EMI costing Rs.20000 in total.

For the rest of the months, my limit would remain 40k only?

For an example :-

You buy a product worth 18k on a no cost EMI for 3 months.

Then your remaining limit for the current month would be 42k.

Next month limit would increase to 48k as you pay the first installment of 6k and so on.

Okay got that grinning
This means at any point, the borrowed amount cannot surpass the limit, be it no-cost emi or normal spends with a credit card.

Regarding EMI’s I think no. Honestly I never bought any product on EMI’s. When it comes to normal spends so you spent 5k out of 60k by 27th July and your statement generate date is 15th August. But you can pay in advance like on 27th july itself and get the full limit back without waiting for the statement to be generated.

Okay, this sounds just like Paytm postpaid biggrin
With advance payments, limit restores to full even before the statement is generated biggrin

Okay, can we do this?

Spend 50000
Paid 50000 in advance
Spend 50000
Paid 30000 in advance

All this within a single bill cycle. (with an actual limit as Rs.60000)

The final bill would be of Rs.20k

This way I would earn 5000 Amazon cashback?

Absolutely. You can do this. So you are going to spend all your money on Amazon only? smiley Because 5% cashback is applicable only on Amazon.in.

Nope, I was just saying that with 60k limit, we can max earn a cashback of Rs.3k grinning

But with advance payments, we can surpass the earnings and practically earn unlimited cashback biggrin

I got your point. You can surpass the earnings. But if you spend 60k on Amazon then only you will get 3000 cashback that’s what I mean to say will you spend all your money on Amazon only? smiley

See below table how the cashback will work.

Do not say this to customer care if ever call you after transaction.
Also single txn size is limited to <60K in ur case even if you pay Rs1lac in advance
So u can not buy a Laptop worth >60K with this card.
Over limit charges are hefty so be careful to track limit.

If you do this you may loose the card very soon, as card people will get suspicious and do not want 2x or 3x spends of card limit – unless you have high income in which case they may enhance your limit.

Nope. Nothing happens if you pay your dues on time.

I have done it for 3-4 years when I was spending 2-3L on office expenditure. Card limit was 1L and I needed to use more than that. I used to pay bill 3-4 times each month to make room for next expenditure.

Yes, I also been doing this from past 2-3 years. Nothing happens as of now, except my cibil score got increased. smile The reason could be different of cibil getting increased. Just saying that no harm in this recurring process.
