I’ve two Jio numbers and want to change ownership for one of them. Called up customer care and was told there is no such procedure to do this.
Does anyone know if this is possible at all ? If yes, how?
Don’t want to do MNP
Thanks.

Yes. Did it yesterday only. But for this you have to do MNP twice. Like Jio to non-Jio then back to Jio (after 3 months)

Don’t want to leave Jio.
MNP would force me to stay at least 90 days on another operator plus I’ll have to pay (and lose) money to both operators for plans etc.

That loss is there. In Vodafone, Airtel postpaid it’s possible at some 500 fees. For prepaid users, they ask to convert to postpaid first.

That’s all illegal stuff these operators do. They want to put all customers on postpaid by hook or crook.
Isn’t this possible legally? Some procedure that TRAI has suggested?

That’s not true. When you move to new operator, you can change Owner; operators don’t bother. It has been done several times in my house.

Bro any idea, if I don’t recharge one Jio SIM with any plan, how soon will they close it. I intend to Top it up with 50 Rs and keep it idle for bank smses only. Also, how to transfer Jio balance from one Jio to another. That transfer option on MyJio under Voucher section is asking to buy a plan using Paytm, Jiomoney or DC/CC/NetB How to do it?

I think your number will be active for at least one month even if you don’t recharge at all. You’ll have incoming but not outgoing. But I’m not 100% sure.
You may want to directly contact Jio CC about this or tag some dimers who may know it.

If there’s no activity on a phone number for 90 days only then it gets deactivated. Since you will be receiving calls and msgs, so don’t worry, it won’t get closed. And jio has no such mandatory validity Recharges like AVOID. You’re good to go!
