+1
Safe way of doing.

Or close CC first. Then transfer all funds and send an email to close your account or scanned copy of request in case just email is OK. Make sure you maintain AMB for that month even after withdrawing all funds. Keeping more money for few days will do this.

@dragonball You can follow the suggestion given by @hese to close the accounts. However, I would advise you to not close your credit card account regardless of whether you use the credit card or not as closing it will negatively impact your credit score. Keeping your older credit card accounts alive maintains your “credit age” and keeps your “credit utilization ratio” low. Both of these things are important for a good credit score. Send a written request to to your base branch including the details of the account to which you want the balance to be transferred electronically. Declare that you have destroyed debit card and cheque book or enclose these with the request.

Also paying your credit card bill after the due date lowers your credit score. One should never go for settlement of credit card dues as they have to pay the remaining amount at a later date. If you have huge credit card written off dues or personal loan written off, then there will be a huge negative impact on your score.

Citibank closes their credit cards on non usage for a period of time. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_evil.gif Anyways its one of the worst banks for regular consumers.

These r the options to close Saving axx.

1. Same bank another city branch may accept to migrate the account { Scb to scb} or can be merged with an existing acc. (Only balance credit ) with loss of previous relationship.

2. Scb Ac. Of x city (only balance ) can be transforred to ABC bank of y city anywhere in India , without any charges . written application of the axx. To be sent to ABC bank (y) or x , any place, by courier or personally., along with passbook , chque book and debit card.

3. in case you r not having acc at y , them you have to submit revise KYC document and a new SB axx. Can be opened in you name.

4. Just FYI,
(This was followed in old days without ATM card, mostly for defence staff)

While the battalion moves from x place to y place, bank can close the acc and gives you pay order (or thr. Post) fvg. Y branch as chosen by acc. Holder. U can visit y branch and hand over the pay order for opening a new acc. At y.

(Still followed by govt. For pension account or claim payment etc. )

Call credit card helpline to close your cc and withdraw all your money from the SB account and destroy the debit card, that’s it.
