There is a trick, but sometimes not working and you will lost your card.

After billing, call customer care and tell them to close your account, because you don’t want paid cards. They will take request.

After few days you will get call from backend team, they will offer you LTF or fee waiver.

It worked for my friend who take risk. But always not working.

You can also sell Amazon GV at 2-2.5% at dd trading section to archive 1L milestone.

Buy direct from Amazon you will get 2.5%. means no loss.
Archiving 1L milestone also give you 2k Cleartrip voucher, you can sell here at 1-1.5k easily.

And 1L is small amount.

Yes, but SBI will not take interest in keeping the customer. There are some private banks which offer some lucrative deals if you submit request for closing.

For a typical middle class family living in a metro city,it is small amount. Just running 2 AC in Delhi summer will get you 4-5k power bills for 3-4 months & even in winter one can easily get 2-3k power bill so just power bills in a year will add up to 30-40k easily.
