Just by reading all the reviews for seller and the reviews for this product it does not look fake ! Any reason why you suspect it as fake ??

1.packaging so simple like from local shop.
2. Its cheaper than other brand. I bought one brand from supermarket for Rs.1100 for 1litre. but this ebay is giving for Rs.500 for 1 litre.

As per http://lifehacker.com/check-for-a-seal-of-appro…

An estimated 69% of all store-bought extra virgin olive oils in the US are probably fake, according to tests by the University of California.

And we are talking of India. God only knows!

I have been buying this oil http://www.ebay.in/itm/Benefit-Organic-Extra-Vi… from the same seller for over a year now. It comes in dark glass bottle.

No complaints till now.

But the packaging of your item looks cheap, perhaps the reason you feels its fake. But it comes with fssai seal. So, shouldn’t be concern in my opinion.

You can try a few tests to check if it is real.

There are different customs duties for oils especially higher for branded bottled products. So the importer might be bringing them in barrels marked as industrial use and then packing them in bottles to provide a cheaper product since India is know to be very price sensitive.

I have seen the label name in Bigbazar.

Now for the price. the retailers markup is approx 35% for these products so getting it at half price is understandable.

regarding the fake product olive oil is extracted in 3 stages.
extra virgin : 1st stage (cold dressed salads only)
virgin : 2nd stage (all purpose)
regular : 3rd stage left over from 2nd stage (used for cooking for its higher burn point similar to palm oil)

If its a blend of 1st and 2nd stage its still acceptable because stage 1 is supposed to be expensive.

hope it clarifies your doubt.
