Important update regarding the Gold Collection on your American Express® Gold Card
We are writing to inform you about an important update regarding the Gold Collection on your Card account. We have discontinued The American Express Gift Cards as a redemption option and it has been replaced with statement credit.
Please find below the redemption change update for your reference:

Kindly note, the old redemption options will be discontinued with immediate effect and new redemption options will be available going forward.

i just received my amex gift card value rs.7500 against the redemption on 18000 points i had redeemed points last friday

Was expected. Earlier they stopped selling these gift cards and now corporate ones also discontinued. This option is better than gift card redemption.

As long as 10000 credit = 24k points
I.e 1 point = 40p+
Instead of normal 1 point = 25+

It’s about gold collection I. E. When one accumulates 18000/24000 points. Else redeem or for 25% value. Staright away without waiting. But maximum benefit of this card is in accumulating only.

Where can we get further details of the above? I have not reached even 18K, but probably will reach very soon, just wondering and will love to know if anybody knows..
I am also going to achieve 18000points in another 2-3months. I found that there is no benefit to redeem at 24K points as value is same. Earlier I did mistake and requested small points but overall good card to get some cash.
First of all, you do good transaction, I mean transaction above 3lakh in a year, they are sure going to reverse your annual card renewal charges. They reversed in my case when I stated that I have used your card regularly and did a lot of transaction in past 1year. If you calculate little bit, you can easily reach at 18K points in a year.

They regularly run offer 3X, 5X points so your points will be double or tripple during those period. So even you spend 70K in a year, you reach almost 14K but if you spend almost 3Lakh per anuum, you will receive almost 20-24K points as well as fee reversal.
I have MMRC card & in this February it will complete 1 yr. Of my card. I have around 18300 points. When should I ask for renewal charge reversal, I mean before completing 1yr. or after that & how? I mean what should be my argument to get it done? Should I tell them that I am having other banks cc with same points as lifetime free card?

Before that they do not entertain any request as it is not billed so no question of reversing

My gold card is due for renewal this week. So I called them 2 week’s back saying same, so they told we can waive off 50% of fee and you need to pay 50% fee and wont get any points. 
After this I decided to close this card (I am holding Membership card as well) and again called them 2 days back stating the same.
They offered me offer if I enroll 4 billers for standing instructions they will waive off 100% fee as my credit history been excellent 
. I agreed immediately and provided them details, today I see there is credit entry of membership reversal of 4500 and also they credited 4000 extra points. This has also completed my 24k points. 
I hope my experience will help in negotiating with them for your card renewal.
what is 4 billers? that is electric bill and all ?
