Stay home is good for those who have it.
Those who don’t have, it’s nightmare for them.
Most of these people don’t have real homes.
They live in slums. They prepare temporary tent like arrangements for shelter and they move as their work location changes.

I saw reporters asking questions to a poor lady about lockdown. What she said is unbelievable.
These people don’t care about virus and lockdown.
The only thing they care is feeding themselves and their childs.
They work and get daily wages.
When contracters were forced to stop the work, they stopped payments of the workers.
These workers survived some days but they relised that they can’t stay there.
These people don’t have money either to travel thousands of kilometres.
We here think about lockdown and survival.
For these people, daily life is survival.

Our system is late to realise that we have some poor people in country who don’t care about virus and lockdown and they don’t have money to eat and travel.
They are trying to give these people shelter and food.
But these people are not listening.
Also their states are not ready to take them inside due to fear of coronavirus.

It will be a shame for our country if the death count of such people crosses death count of corona cases. pensive

They aren’t trying to give these people shelter and food. You and me have time to think but to those people… boy, they are in fear all the time…no time to think…not enough information…no facility.
The government could have announced everything in advance. Where are those IAS officers and think tanks that advice to the PM? It’s their job to understand the conditions of these poor people.

So, NRI/foreigner/wealthy people bring the virus to India and these poor people should suffer due to their foolishness?
It’s similar to destroying/exploiting indigenous peoples of Africa/South America just because they don’t know how the colonialism works..

There should be some provision made for labourers on a systematic basis – for shelter n food.

They did the worst thing possible.
If they were in the city, some politician or someone from many organizations would have tended to them like what is happening in most cities now. Who will feed them properly in their villages? They would have been better off in the city itself.
Instead they are walking or hitching rides dangerously with little kids who can’t take this heat.
And might spread corona everywhere risking more lives.
But I can understand their situation. Poor people.
