international traveler please help

Its risky – better communicate with airline people and agent/portal (through which booking has been made)

I faced same problem while national tour; but mistake was realized just within 10 mints of booking the ticket. And I mailed both yatra/goibibo & airline co.
Portal was unable to change but they confirmed me that they had conveyed message to airline people.
Still, while entering into airport, they raised a concern but was allowed to go in.

Contact airlines and get it changed. Else cancel the ticket and rebook a new one.

that they won’t allow
what to do ?
ticket is worth 8000 and non-refundable

this is totally not fair
I have to loose 8000 just for a single Mr/Miss ?

I know its not fair. But that is how it works bro

I made a similar mistake in one domestic flight. But because it was domestic, they did not care much. When it comes to international, these things won’t be tolerated normally. The name has to be exactly as it is in the passport/visa including the “Title”. You have 2 options now

1) Take a risk and go ahead. If they let it pass, then you are lucky. If they stop you in Mumbai, you can still look to book another ticket and travel. The problem is in Dubai. You never know who you’ll be up against. Some officers may ignore it. But some won’t and there might be some unnecessary trouble there. So, its a huge risk and definitely not worth it. Best is to go with option 2.

2) Book a new ticket for 8k.

Can’t help it bro, it might sound unfair to us but security is the utmost priority when it comes to air travel and there cannot be any deviation in their protocols.

I made small mistakes in booking air tickets thrice till date and all the three times I had to cancel and rebook sadly.

I’m sure you will not be stopped from boarding the flight even with this issue. Might be some hassles in the airport, but don’t worry. Just blame your agent for the mistake and they will let you board

@sasasasa Such things are treated very differently for international travel as immigration gets involved.

I don’t think you will be allowed to board or pass through immigration with this ticket. If you are in Mumbai, as a last try, you may want to visit the airport and speak to the airline airport manager face-to-face to see if he can help you.

You would have gotten away with this had it been a domestic travel. For international travel, especially to places with rigid laws such as Dubai, i would not recommend you to travel with an incorrect title. As @DealSeeker mentioned, you can try to convince the airport manager but do keep a fallback option in case he doesn’t agree. Spot fares to Dubai at the last moment will be much more expensive than what you would pay 2-3 weeks in advance. If i was you, i would bite the bullet and cancel the ticket. I’m assuming you are travelling to Dubai for a holiday. Peace of mind is most important part of a holiday, you don’t want the same to be ruined because of discrepancies in your ticket.

You have never faced immigration authorities, haven’t you?

Do they really create an issue for Title/Salutation. I don’t know about Dubai but in US they don’t even care. They only will look your passport.
