IRCTC - Doubt about waiting list ticket.

Should I need to manually cancel the waiting list ticket book on IRCTC website if the ticket is not confirmed?
Just gone through this rule: No refund shall be granted on the RAC or Waitlisted ticket after thirty minutes before the scheduled departure of the train. For further details, please refer New refund rules 2015 w.e.f 12-Nov-2015. So is this a new rule?

If In one transaction. You booked more than one ticket..and only few get confirmed then unconfirmed ticket will not be cancelled
That means in case of partial confirmation , unconfirmed ticket will not be cancelled
If all ticket in one transcation are unconfirmed, they all get canceled if u dint get any seat

just talk to their customer care…they are really good
