You can consider if heavy discount. Hassle free registration before April 2020.
Registration valid for next 15 Years.

There will be no or very limited resale value, as no fresh registration possible after 1st April..
However, a good deal for own use as long a you intend to keep it for at least 8-10 years.

Is it so? Old vehicles which are already registered can’t sell & re-register on new buyer’s name?

Also try purchasing by mid-Feb, to give enough time for completing registration process before 1st April.

If you need to upgrade do it now. No point in waiting for 6 months. End Nov and Dec anyways there will be offers.

Why happened to regular 100w light bulbs by CFL and LED killed CFL. Same will happen to petrol engines. When petrol prices will be steady 150/ltr. diesel cars will be banned. Only viable option which will remain is EV.

So 10 years from now petrol cars will be vintage another trick govt will do is make the norms so strict that car makers have to sell basic cars which now cost 4 5 lakhs close to 10 lakhs and bring down EV prices from 20 Lakhs to 15 lakhs that way EV will look affordable.

Let me take some assumptions

10 year breakup will be like this
Petrol car
10 lakhs cost + 4 lakhs taxes + 6 lakhs petrol = 20L

EV car
15 lakhs cost + 50000 taxes + 1. 5lakh elec cost = 17L

People will be forced to buy EV with extremely bad resale value for petrol cars.

waiting till feb for bs4 isn’t good idea, is it?

most of auto manufacturers are launching bs6 petrol cars.also, govt said that diesel cars won’t be banned. but may be we will see petrol cars more due to emission issues with diesel.
how petrol prices will reach to 150/ltr? govt will intentionally do this so people will move to EVs? rolleyes

March 2016 was a special where car makers believed govt will give extension so they waited for the last day and people got the deals.

Now all car makers are literally screwed due to recession and have cut production for last 10. Months. so there wouldn’t be many cars left in Jan of bs4. Car manufacturers are answerable to their investors. If they let repeat of 2016 they will be sacked.

So you are left with bs6 at much higher price in Feb. Now it’s upto you to think if this scenario can or cannot happen 🤔

Govt has assured that BS4 vehicles will not be banned & we can use them till their life. So you can purchase one at any time till April 2020. Better buy now. No point in waiting as there will be less chance of big discounts.

Car companies have been strategically controlling and managing their production. Suzuki have come with so many BS6 cars this year and almost every company has set up their launch of BS6 cars ( Creta, Venue, S-Cross , Ciaz , Honda City , Civic , Verna and many more) in January or February .

The discounts are been thrown by brands which are over priced . Let’s take eg of Mi.Mi gives discounts on their android one series so early and major price cuts , why? Because they are already over priced compared to their Note Series .

It’s better you planned strategically which Car you want and then go on negotiate with the dealers around your city.

There is such a problem with getting rid of garbage.. Imagine how to get rid of toxic garbage like batteries.. How are they going to manage this? It pollutes ground water and the land. Also batteries are not cheap and are only made in a few countries. EV is a nice dream but its just not feasible without the under lying infrastructure. Also if they can not light up everyone, EV draining electricity is going to make this condition far worse..
