Looking at the small granules stuck at the sides. This is ginger infused raw honey. But is it fake (sugar mixed)?

Put a drop near ants, if they eat it’s definitely fake.
Else we can’t surely tell if it’s fake or real.

Btw, On the sticker they wrote it’s 100% raw honey and nothing else na stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

Yes but everything has adulteration these days. So we can never be sure.

Also dont have ants near me, so cant use that test.

Honey crystallizes in cold. Put it in the sun. If it becomes liquid again, its ok. Put a drop of honey in a glass of water. If its pure honey, the surface tension will keep it spherical till it reaches the bottom of the glass.

Pure honey wont be much sweeter and it doesn’t has any expiry date. (Natural honey never perishes for years)
Check cotton fire technique to identify its purity, read somewhere about it. (i forgot its real concept/method).

I think even sugar syrup crystallized when refrigerated. (Have seen many times in fruit squashes)

one needs to be careful, against not passing on misinformation as facts.
especially in this day and age.
practically all foods we consume are acidic (not alkaline).
and oxidation, contact with oxygen and other elements DOES degrade perishables.

if stored in jars/bottles made of quality glass (or other non reactive materials) and filled to the top (negligible air or only nitrogen), then yes smile it will last years.
it helps to keep it away from strong light in the back of the storage almirah or shelf and preferably not too extreme temperatures.

we’ve even had elders giving us honey which they said was kept since 25-30 years. tasted good too👌

since 7-8 years we,
personally, totally stopped buying honey or pickles sold in petrochemical containers (plastics).

except newspapers, practically all personables (even bottled water) in most countries need to have markings of packing date and expiry date. so that’s just legal compliance.

Correct.. crystallization doesn’t mean adulteration.. Have a look the following pictures..
.
100% pure honey (as was extracted before us only).. got crystallized over years, atleast 6-7 yrs old..
.
Incomparable taste.. just not smooth after crystallization.. (though putting a small portion in hot water bath helps)

The pics I put seems to be more like crystallized sugar, does not look like crystallized honey. Both types of crystallization looks different.
