Others offer 1gb for 250 Rs and still its costly? Remember they have invested nearly $25 billion in jio. They need to recover the investment and make profit too.

if 1 GB for 80 rs means, i am 1000 % sure airtel and other guys will reduce price for sure, otherwise they vanish in market https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif
80 rs is more affordable for me and most.

New Delhi, July 17 (ANI): Speculations came to an end with the announcement of Reliance Industries much-awaited commercial launch of the Reliance Jio Infocomm to start offering its 4G services, barring four circles where it could take four to six more weeks to prepare the network.

The announcement was made during the first-quarter earnings briefing of Reliance Industries.

Head of strategy and planning at Reliance Jio, Anshuman Thakur, said: “We had thought that we would launch once our 850 MHz network was integrated, because we don’t want to be working on the network after the launch. But apart from that, our overall readiness is really high.”

He said the company received the last of the required approvals from the telecom department on July 7 in the four circles of Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

“So it will take four-six weeks to deploy the network there. In all other circles our readiness is high,” added Thakur. (ANI)

We used to get 5 GB @ 246 postpaid / 4 GB @ 246 prepaid in RCom CDMA with about 1-1.5 mbps stable speed. Unfortunately big brother Mukesh has forced Anil baba to close that option to ensure that Jio remains the cheapest data potion.
Where MTS is still functional, old datacard users still enjoy 40 GB @ 999+taxes with speeds of 3-4 mbps.
So tariff is not “revolutionary” and higher than those offered CDMA. But for majority of GSM users, it would be lower than their existing price.

Yeah. That would translate into approximately 1.5 lakh crore rupees. It is the most by any startup in the world.

Tarrif is already revolutionary considering the current prices of cellular data. You cant compare it with cdma. Cdma is a different technology and tariff was cheap due to low users. It needed a separate handset so the adaptation was less. Wireless network has its limitations on the amount of data it can carry. No wireless carrier can offer unlimited data for everyone. Even The pricing cant be too low due to huge investment. They have to recover the investment too.
Those 30 rs per gb articles seems to be paid marketing by Relaince to create hype. In reality no one can offer data for so cheap. It would make their network crash due to too many users.

CDMA tariff was less because technologically it was and still is the more spectrum efficient technology. So one single tower and less spectrum could take care of a much large area than GSM/UMTS. More than half of USA and a major part of China runs on CDMA. The CDMA (EVDO) tariffs had been there for more than 3 years so can not be termed as gimmick. Yes it needed a separate handset for mobile users, but in data card segment, CDMA had been the ruler for last several years.
