Most senior dimers who used to give lots of help and tips have moved on from this site. DD used to be a different world 1-2 years back and there used to be people with lots of knowledge about diff aspects. Now its mostly abt trading for those phonepe, paytm cashbacks and useless stuff. Good suggestions are hard to come by on DD now sad

Don’t have in-depth knowledge on this subject but I have used both of the products. We used to have a Aquaguard machine in our rented house. It was pre-installed by our landlord and during our stay of 2.5 years, I don’t remember calling customer care once for any issue in the purifier. It just worked.

When we bought a house 6 years ago, we installed Kent purifier and since then we had to call Kent customer care at least once a year and each visit cost 2-6k rupees. Although the customer service is great with Kent but maintenance is expensive.

I can’t generalize it as it is an isolated case. You can read experience of other users on Amazon/Flipkart.

God! feel sorry for that (your experience).

meaning either you got a lemon or that model in general and the service/ parts you received were not worthy.

means the company extracted or somehow you ended up paying 1-1.5X more than the original investment/purchase value.
i wonder, exactly which honourable Kent model it was! Although the whole brand is a hopeless bundle of faff.
their ‘strategy’ hinged on using (then) Rajya Sabha member Hema amma to push for countervailing duty reduction on their machinery imports. kits and less local taxes. used the same Hema with the lying, misinformation campaign ‘duniya ka sabse shudh’ which came under fire from ASCI.

I think Aquaguard is better than kent but their maintenance cost is very high.Their spare parts are not available in market and is sold by their company only

come on man, even Apple products get repaired and service. that too software part laughing ..without Apple Inc. helping.

you underplaying ‘the great Indian jugaad’ aka Bhartiya ingenuity, mentality.

depends from model to model or part to part.
solenoid valves (that i’ve seen. on their three different models) are worse than or similar to Chinese after market (O.E.M.) spares.

for activated charcoal, carbon, there isn’t any real distinction in market.
the pre-filter/ sediment cartridge and membrane cartridge (for RO) is the only major consumable companies can squeeze, by having unique size and dimensions.

but often times, families (especially women) are resourceful enough to ask the technician of Brand A. to source the cartridge of Brand B and vice versa laughing and then play the ‘kya bhaiya/beta.. humse itna charge loge’ card!
internal rates for the service centre is the rate at which these ‘technician’ kids pick stuff up and one family i know, has NEVER done official AMC with brand after warranty.. All their warranty is handled by ‘kya bta ab mujh boodhi aurat sei itne paise lega’ aunty

only some of the newer, fancier (useless) models of Eureka Forbes develop PCB snags, so that is the only propitiatory part. (in some models even a conked of ON/OFF switch or just a faulty flow selector requires changing the complete panel

is the contracted service in your area/locality by company employees/staff or third party franchise (“authorised” service blah blah)?

if direct company person (high;y unlikely) , what on an average is the age of the person/s who visit for service?

is it out of the (free/included) service contract yet? what are the charges for a two year or three year extension (purchased) of contract on this? (assuming they do 3 year contract on this model).
On other models, Eureka Forbes does commit to/sell two year, three year AMC.

and also, like our @esteemed Dimer above, searched around here to find few links of similar discussions
He mentioned Dolphin https://www.desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-online/top... in so far as I know, in the regions that they operate, Dolphin provide some of the best (technology, quality) water purifiers for Indian conditions.
They use better cartridges/membranes and the technology is researched and built on B.A.R.C. research.
