Wierd, yesterday I did a UPI transactions of 12k around 10pm and got a call right after the transaction from kotak bank for the confirmation if I myself did the transaction, well nothing wrong in that but really? Calling at 10pm? Seriously it made me uneasy, and I was concerned about my money with them, I checked my balance like several times after that call. Your thoughts please.

A few years ago, I did a transaction on my HDFC credit card of 15k at 1 AM. Got the confirmation call within a minute. They wanted to verify if I really used the card myself or not. I confirmed.

IMO they have auto fraud check system in place which flags transactions for possible fraud based on several check points and our usage history. And I don’t think there is nothing wrong in calling to confirm. All they wanted to do is protect their customers from a possible fraud. If you have used the card yourself then it means you are very well awake… so there is nothing wrong in confirming.

If I didn’t make the transaction myself then I would want to know about it as soon as possible… doesn’t matter if it is 10 PM or 1 AM.

Most fraud happens at night time ,so that user won’t notice the transaction sms.

Same happened with me,
I did 5 huge UPI transfers one after the other. Within 5 mins Axis called me confirming that I had made the transfers.
At first I felt doubtful, then I gave a thought and I was glad that they had some check in place.
This was First and Good experience from Private Bank.

If it’s a promotional call then it’s not good… in fact, it’s very bad.
But if it’s about verifying a transaction just taking place on your card then it’s good.

Btw I got a call from kotak for a declined international paypal transaction for an auto subscription service(I keep the international txn disabled on card except when doing) which I was not planning on continuing so told the same to bank as they offered me to enable international txn on card.

SBI CC blocked my debit card and contacted me as I was withdrawn 20K twice at midnight. After verifying with me, they unblocked the card.

Good man. ICICI Bank withdrew 7k from my HDFC account with forged signatures. HDFC didn’t even verify signatures and gave money. No one called, lost money.

yesterday i got a call from one unknown number (it was from gurugram), on true caller it did say it was SBI CARD. And the time was around 1AM. Also, i was sleeping that time.

Yes happened to me too with HDFC tried to make a transaction at an international website in USD forgot to activate international usage and transaction got declined. Within 10 seconds I received a call from their team. It was 12AM smile
