it is routine thing.
deadline and extensions
.
those who can fill the schema or know basics of what sections are what, can file/upload for free on ITD site.

Icici has a popular tax filing site
and
Skorydov has https://myitreturn.com.
.
for lay person the design and interface of latter (mITr) might be simpler.
.
not promoting those companies, far from it.
.
but those who need or have digital signature.. would find these options really paperless.
.
MITR used to have tie-ups with many of the Fortune 500 companies.
since they supplied the softwares/support for generating the Form16 of the employees of client organisations.
.the Form16 PDF itself had a sneaky link (and offers for corporates).. that directly interpolated the Form16 data to MITR dot com (after user created an account on MITR)
.
thus manual entries were reduced to bare minimum (like shares, investments, loans, other income, if any).
..
don’t know if these commercial sites still give free facilkw to uplot basic null returns.

Filing ITR for salaried person is really simple now a days. IT department has done great job in this line. Also linking with aadhaar is great step toward paperless verification process

If I earned less than 50K using PayTm UPI offers and all cashback offers during last year then do I need to show them as my income and pay tax on it or it can be considered as gift and no tax on it?

Section 80ccd (1) will apply to self employed and also for normal employee

Amount of deduction will depends upon employee category

Self employee 20% of gross total income or amount deposited which ever lower

Normal employees (other than self)10% of gross total income or amount deposited which ever lower

Aggregate amount of Gifts upto 50k per year  is not taxable. If it more than that you have declare that under income from other sources

See this example

Mr. A bought a camera for Rs 50,000, on which he received a cashback of Rs 10,000. Additionally, he received a gift of Rs 45,000 from one of his friends. Even though the amount of cash back is less than Rs 50,000, yet, the aggregate of cashback and gift exceeds Rs 50,000. The entire receipt of Rs 55,000 shall be taxable in the hands of the Mr. A under the head “Income from other sources”.

You can but you should not if you don’t have any income. At best, file with Zero income if you still want to do it.

If you file ITR once, you’ll have to file it every year whether you’ve income or not. Otherwise, you’ll get notice from Income Tax Dept. for non-filing ITR. This has been taken up very seriously since last year by the dept.

Once you start filing, you can’t stop ever otherwise be ready to get harassed.

Directly from IT site since it was ITR-1 for salary and interest income.
