Lava Launches UPI based feature phone app: Lava Pay

For the installation, the app will be pre-installed in the brand’s upcoming feature phones.

The existing Lava feature phone users can get the app installed on their device by visiting any of the nearest service centers in India.

For sending or paying money from the app, users need to enter the phone number of the receiver, the amount and a transaction ‘Pass Code. ‘

When the transaction is complete, both the sender and the receiver will receive alerts.

Apart from that, the users can check their account balance on the app.

At the moment, India has approximately 550 million feature users, claims Lava. While feature phone to smartphone upgrades have been happening for a while now, many reports have claimed that the upgrades are slowing down due to a lack of improvement in smartphones.
