Wanted to buy some LED Bulbs. But got to know that brightness of LED doesn’t depend on Watts. Can someone suggest some good quality LED Bulbs which they have used?

Looking for bulbs which are comparable to tubelight and give good brightness. Thanks https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif

@as005 See the discussion in the following thread: https://www.desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-onlin...

If you want to replace tubelights, buy LED battens. Here are two old/expired deals for LED battens just so you can get direct product links:

In discussion, you refer to lumens. How many lumens will be enough to read a book without any strain? The outlet is about 2 meters vertically. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif

I actually have a normal bulb outlet (in which you screw the bulb inside)- I would like to insert an LED bulb in it, don’t want a tubelight, bought one recently. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif

You need to buy a B22 LED bulb. Go for Philips/Wipro garnet. Cool Day Light for reading. Warm White for soothing yellow.
Small room – 7w
Medium room – 9w
Big room – 12w

If you are going to be only 2 meters away from the bulb for your reading purpose, even a 7W or 9W LED bulb is more than enough.

There are two popular base types for bulbs (edit: in India) — E27 and B22. The “regular” one with two protruding pins and a rotate-and-lock mechanism is B22 and the “screw” ones are called E27. Now you can buy accordingly for your needs.

P.S. The regular base type is actually subjective and B22 is considered “regular” in India, while E26/E27 are the norms in the US/Europe.

Do not buy LED bulb from Syska. I found them to be the worst. I have installed one bulb of ACS and two bulbs of Syska in my home. I bought the ACS one from Pepperfry and Syska from Flipkart. The ACS one has been working very good for almost 2 years now. The brightness has not changed or faded at all. The Syska one lasted for only 2 months and then I spent 2 months emailing/talking/tweeting/facebook with Syska to get it replaced. They have pathetic customer care. I did not find the Syska bulb to be as bright as ACS one even though both are of 7W.
