LeEco launches Cool 1C with a 4K-capable 13MP camera

Two of the biggest giants in the Chinese smartphone industry, LeEco and Coolpad, recently collaborated to launch an affordable smartphone in their home country, dubbed the Cool 1 Dual. The USP of the device was that it sported a dual-camera setup of 13MP sensors on the back. Now, the two brands have come together once again to launch yet another smartphone in China, and this time the chosen moniker is Cool 1C.

The Cool 1C (with 1C being the acronym for one camera) is identical to the Cool 1 Dual, albeit doesn’t come with dual cameras at the back. Instead, the smartphone sports a single 13MP sensor which is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps. The rest of the specs of the smartphone are similar to its predecessor. The Cool 1C packs a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 652 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM. The device comes with 32GB of onboard storage and a whopping 4,060mAh battery. Both the Cool 1 Dual and the Cool 1C draw similarities in terms of design as well, with the only noticeable difference being the single camera sensor at the back.

The Cool 1C retails for ¥899 (~Rs 8,950) and will go on sale on December 6th, making it possibly the cheapest Android smartphone with a Snapdragon 652 processor and 4K video recording support. Unfortunately, the Cool 1C won’t come with a 4GB RAM/64GB storage option. There is currently no news whether the two companies plan on selling this smartphone elsewhere so stay tuned for more info.
