During all-party meeting of both Houses on 8th April –
PM said that – it didn’t seem possible that the countrywide lockdown can be lifted as per the original schedule of April 14
Added that he will consult the Chief Ministers before deciding the exit strategy.

Already large quantity of wheat/rice have been allocated for issue through the ration shops practically free of cost. So those with ration cards will get something to eat.

These “may be” posts can be avoided
High chances of people getting confused and spreading misinformation because of these (even the news agencies recently misrepresented that Telangana CM announced extension of lockdown until June 3 when he just suggested it)

Multi organ failure is the final stage of almost all pulmonary diseases. The lungs fail to generate enough oxygen. The CO2 levels in blood build up. The heart tries to compensate by pumping harder and harder, till it fails. The brain and other organs start malfunctioning due to lack of oxygen. etc. etc.
And Covid-19 directly affects the lungs.

Totally agree! We should avoid speculation its work of media to speculate in the name of their unknown sources but at least we shouldn’t support it until news is from genuine sources.

Quite most obviously it’ll be extended, it’s just that obvious. However, it should also be left to the respective state governments. The least affected states need not follow a total lockdown. The automated industries should resume operation from 15th.

And those without will starve to death. Just think about the children at mid day meal schools

Not all states are affected the same way…States like Maharashtra, Kerala & Tamilnadu must continue the lockdown while other states where there are very less effect, should ease the lockdown or end the lockdown if their CM’s feel so…Country wide lockdown I think no longer be needed after 14th…Instead of a nation wise lockdown, state-wise or covid hotspots wise lockdowns should be implemented…

Mid Day meals are coordinated by the States. And several States are delivering Mid-Day meal to the home of the children. Many States have tied up with NGOs for implementation of mid-day meal. Many of these NGOs are also delivering at home.
Again, wheat and rice has been allocated for mid day meal.
Its another thing that NGOs like Akshay Patra advertise their mid-day meal program and seek donations without even mentioning that foodgrains and also cooking casts are given to them by the Govt.

Lockdown extension is the only viable option not just for India but most countries effected by virus.

I do worry about migrant labourers still stuck in different states without any source of income. I wonder whether their ration card works in different state.. I hope there is proper planning for their food requirements else they should be allowed to return home in batches.

Local NGOs are providing food to these people.

Atleast in Mumbai, I don’t think there is any trouble for any labour or anyone for basic food atleast.

I am in touch with many such NGO (in my area)
