The app has recently upgraded.
Now you can lock your Aadhaar from app itself, so that no one can use it to authenticate for e-kyc even if they have your Aadhaar number. Only unlock when you need to perform  e-kyc. Note- Generate VID before Aadhaar locking. It is needed to unlock Aadhaar.
You can also lock your Biometrics.
All the above services will help you to secure your Aadhaar, even if your Aadhaar data is leaked.

Some of the above services can also be done via SMS if the internet connection is poor.

Retrieval of VID (XXXX represents last 4 digits of your UID/ Aadhaar number)
SMS : “RVID XXXX” to 1947

Generate VID
SMS : “GVID XXXX” to 1947

For locking Aadhaar number
SMS: “GETOTP XXXX" to 1947
Let your 6 digit OTP your received via sms be YYYYYY
SMS: “LOCKUID XXXX YYYYYY” to 1947

For unlocking Aadhaar number

Let your last 6 digits of your VID be ZZZZZZ
SMS: “GETOTP ZZZZZZ”
SMS: “UNLOCKUID ZZZZZZ YYYYYY”
