I had got a mail too about this 11 days back and I tried this coupon yesterday and it worked. Got a free ride of Rs.568.

Gist of the mail: As a gesture of appreciation for your patience, the first trip that you book through our new app on iPhone or iPad between today and 30th Nov 2014 will be free for a bill value up to Rs. 1000. Please use coupon code iOS1000 to avail this benefit.

The issue was that their old version of the iOS app was crashing when iOS 8 released and for almost 1 month there was no way for iOS 8 users to book a Merucab through their app. Hence this gesture of appreciation.

VU&S though I don’t know whether this is for all iOS users or only for those old iOS users who had used their iOS app earlier.

i used it last week with this code while booking the code got applied but after trip i had to pay for it. CC said they said its only for invites and it was for Diwali only…paid rs 870….

I don’t mean to offend you, but why didn’t you clear it out with the cab driver before entering the cab that you don’t have any hard cash

The cab driver would have said, we accept cards too

By the way, the cab drivers have no control over the coupon code applied. Only Meru can decide and intervene.

1. Were you running iOS 8?
2. Were you running the latest version of their iOS app made for iOS 8?
3. Did you use Merucabs earlier through their old app on iOS 7 or were you using Meru for the first time?

The coupon IOS1000 is working on your first booking via the app, if your trip amount is less than 1000 then the ride is free no cash back given
I had upgraded to iOS 8.1 when I used this coupon (also updated to the latest Meru App)
I guess this coupon is valid till Nov 30

Also the code MERU150, is working on your first ride in any of the mobile apps (andriod, win, BB)

Used both and got some good discounts

I Used the coupon thrice with 3 different devices and it worked, i tried using the coupon again once more with the same device i used earlier but even the coupon was applied the discount did not come.

Yes it works only once, 2nd times it does not give error but the discount does not apply
