people still riding free from uber

20/km… && thts the cheapest.. wow… no thanks… I wud rather opt for surge:)

was discussing with local driver ; he said for customers MERU is best now a days

Meru charges per KM and also charges for “waiting” i.e. when teh vehicle is not on the move. So effective price becomes Rs.15-25/KM.
In comparison for Uber the effective price (KM + total time) is around Rs.12-15/KM

I took Meru from Bangalore airport couple of months back. It was a Meru genie cab. Used the 150 off coupon and final bill came to 505rs. Keep in mind that distance between airport to my home is 43 kms. Uber on the other hand would have charged around 800 rupees. I find Meru drivers to be much more professional and courteous than Uber/Ola one’s.

From MARATHHALLI TO Airport, I was charged Rs 1600 (surge) by UBER OR OLA, before 3 months. It was 48 Kms

Looks like you were hit by infamous “surge pricing”. 1600 is way too high for Airport drop from any part of Bangalore.
