There would be problems where ever Aadhaar and PAN are mandatory. EPFO UAN verification would fail for a start. Then there could be issues with LPG subsidy.
Both names have to be made same. Whichever is correct would remain unchanged while action will be required to change the other. The name that is available in birth certificate/school leaving certificate is generally considered the base. The process for change of Adhaar details are different from that of change of PAN details. For change of Aadhaar details, visit the nearest aadhaar enrollment center with supporting documents and pay the required fees. For change of PAN, apply in appropriate form with supporting documents and pay the appropriate fees.

Thanks for you information. Exactly I need to verify kyc in UAN portal. So do I need to update the aadhar name through enrollment centre. If I change the aadhar name would it effect/conflicts with the Bank, investments and employer. Could you talk about it?

which is the correct name?
the one on adhaar or the one on PAN?
or do you have different names for EPFO, bank a/c and school certificate.
you should make all names uniform. even EPFO registered name can be changed, if that is wrongly spelt.

Actually PAN has correct name which matches with certificates. Not sure bank might have aadhar as reference. What about all kyc wallets?

When PAN is used as identity proof & aadhaar as address proof then there should be no issue but where aadhaar is used as the identity proof then you will need to contact that wallet’s support team. For banks same thing applies unless it is a 100% digital acc(like dbs digibank, kotak 811,axis asap) or opened online via aadhaar(like idfc referral here) in which case you need to contact bank after getting your aadhaar corrected.

check your bank passbook/stmt. the name would be mentioned there.
if PAN is correct, and others incl EPFO UAN is as per PAN only, then simply visit Aadhaar center with your PAN card and school certificate and get the name rectified.

There was an issue with our office boy . He was withdrawing pf had a issue with father name. As per Aadhar card he have full name , but in Pan card he has only 1 alphabet of his father . So he faces issue that he got of withdrawal in somewhat late , but he didn’t went for Pan name change. Actually he thought issue because of 1 alphabet in his name of pan card . But later on he changed the father’s full name in card. Actually hr of co pressuring him as alphabet in his name , before that withdrawal of PF came.

Ohh..in my case it is space issue. In PAN card, it was entered as per certificates. But in aadhar card, name didn’t have space. I keep on ignoring it because aadhar card mostly dealt with aadhar number and used for address proof. But while doing kyc in UAN it was throwing error that it hasn’t matched with UAN account details. I can change the aadhar name, what was concern is, will it effect bank accounts and kyc completed wallets and other.

Banks and wallets are expected to have the correct name, as per certificate, with space. So adding the space in aadhaar also should not create any issue.

EPFO have removed the father name verification of PAN now, if father’s name as per Aadhaar is found matched.

In UAN Portal itself there is an option of providing the name according to aadhaar

What is the process to change Name? I want to add last name to my first name, officially.
I read online and it says there are three steps:
1. Affidavit
2. Newspapaer Ad
3. Publish in official gazette

Can any one suggest how this can be done here in Delhi? I mean any trustworthy person/agency who can help get this done? Approximate total charge ?
Can anyone give reference of any person who got this done?
Thanks.
