Moto G4 will cram 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The regular Moto G, which is expected to have a 5-inch screen as per previous reports will sport a 13-megapixel camera on the rear.

The Moto G4 Plus — will have 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory with a reported 5.5-inch screen — will on the other hand come with a 16-megapixel rear camera. Both the phones will come with laser autofocus.

Both the Moto G4 variants will sport a 5-megapixel front-facing — an OmniVision sensor — camera and support NFC connectivity. It’s no surprise that the new Moto G phones will ship with Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus will have Full HD screen and an octa-core processor (possibly Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615) under the hood. Expect at least a 3,000mAh battery with Turbo Charging in either model. Moreover, the new Moto G phones will also sport a fingerprint scanner, a first for these phones.

Wait for the reviews and then decide. Otherwise if you find launch offers to be good & useful, go ahead.

Have u noticed this…. That while some companies (vivo, xiaomi etc) advertise that their fingerprint scanner unlocks mobile in the range of 0.2 to 0.3 sec, Moto G4+ will take 0.75 sec for the same https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif Is this thing going to hamper everyday usage? Asking this as I have never used a phone with fingerprint unlock

they disabled live chat too lol may be because of negative comments

Most boring launch event ever seen in ages.
Plus those people who spoke had no idea what they wanted to talk.

haha
I think even G3 launch event was also same
and they didnt announce the G4 price for some reason
dunno why

Most probably they will decide the price for Moto G4 after sales response for G4 Plus. If it is not good, they might release it @12000 or if it is good, then @12500.

Expecting the price tag of 11499 for G4
even 10999 is also possible
only 2gb+16gb version
No fast charger included which usually costs 1000+
No fingerprint sensor

Might be possible… But it will be available only next month, they might announce the price after 1 month.

I think we can only use certain part of Goibibo cash like 5%,10%,20% not exactly sure about this
and I have had moto x play in the past
Used it for few days
Even though it had SD 615, all high end games played fine with max graphic settings and device temp is also well within the range
Yureka even with a 720p display lags n heats like hell

I think SD 617 will perform better than 615 although the difference would be very minimal

Just checked one youtube unboxing video of Moto G4 Plus
Out of the box, the 3gb variant is having 2.1gb free ram

So one last question… Redmi Note 3 (32gb) or Moto G4 Plus? Which would you choose?

If battery is your priority then go for Redmi note 3
If you want Stock Ui with a better camera & fast updates then go for Moto G4
Even though SD 652 is a much better processor i dont think you will notice much of difference with usual tasks and gaming

Apart from being boring, i was a little sad after they announced Snapdragon 617 processor for both variants. I thought atleast for the G4 Plus variant, they might launch it with Snapdragon 650/652 processor. Had high hopes but it was on expected lines as Lenovo would not want to lose market share. I was hoping to replace my Moto G 1st Gen with Moto G4 or G4 Plus. Let me check the reviews and then i will decide. One more phone i am looking forward to is One Plus 3 which also depends on pricing. It might be priced between Rs.25,000-Rs.30,000.

SD 650 previous name was SD 618 and SD 652 previous name was 620. They changed it so that people don’t get confused. They can be provided in below 20k like in Redmi Note 3 which sells @12k. Xiaomi is not some chinese crap, has a better foothold in china & international market. But when Moto G4 Plus is priced @15k, they could have used SD 650. Also SD 650 has a better GPU than SD 617. For more details about difference in SD 617 & SD 650, check in the image below

Xiaomi is afterall chinese bro..you can not deny it…as I said earlier no tier 1 brand can sell SD617/650/652 device under 20K excluding moto
Examples:

Galaxy A9-SD652-around 30k
HTC 10 lifestyle- SD652-above 30K
Coolpad max-SD617-AROUND 20K

SoC(System-on-a-Chip,plainly speaking the CPU,the GPU, RAM, MODEM etc that are all integrated into a single chip.hence the name ) cost is only a small fraction of the total BoM(Bill-of-Materials) associated with a modern smartphone. For instance, Qualcomm’s top tier offering for this generation the SD 820 costs US$62. SD 650(ARM Cortex A72) which is a mid-range chip in all aspects, costs a bit over half of that ~$35-40. Price difference between SD 617(ARM Cortex A53) and SD 650 ~ US $15. So Lenovo could have surely included SD 650 considering the Rs 3k premium over the Redmi Note 3 esp. considering the cheaper plastic chassis and lower capacity battery.
Xiaomi Mi5 retails for the equivalent of US $310(Rs 20k) in China and its SD 820 equipped.
Meizu MX5 priced at Rs 18k was powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7420(Cortex A57+A53) SoC which was featured in Samsung’s flagship models costing upwards of Rs 50k.
Its this mindset that allows Apple to get away with shipping 1344×750 resolution display(720p is 1280×720) in the iphone 6s and just 2GB RAM in 2015.
I was eagerly waiting for the Moto G4 but the underwhelming SoC put me off. Hell even the SD 625(Samsung’s 2nd gen
. 14nm
FINFET manufacturing process )would have served in a pinch. Around Helio P10 levels of sustained performance and a GPU that could be justified for a 1080p display. How ironic that the SD 650 is being manufactured on a 4 year old 28nm LP ( Mediatek’s Helio X10 and P10 are on a newer revision 28nm HPC ) process whereas the much cheaper SD 625 is on a bleeding-edge process tech!
Looks like Spreadtrum left Qualcomm with no choice as they had announced moving their lineup to TSMC’s 16nm
FINFET process.
P.S. The Apple A9 & A9X have a die size thats actually LARGER than Intel’s dual core(Core i3/5/7) mobile offerings!!! Thats how they are able to deliver industry leading single threaded performance. OTOH SD 820’s is very impressive as its within 10% range of the A9 and in a much saner die size.
P.P.S. Costliest component is usually the display. $95 est. for the 1440p display in Galaxy S6 and Note 5…..below $50 for that in the iphone 6s.

What abt FDD LTE Band 5(850MHz) support? I could not find any explicit mention of it. IMO this could be the clincher in favour of RN3 as it supports it and is necessary for viable indoor coverage and will be utilised by both RCOM & Reliance Jio.
