MSEDCL changed my meter without my permission and now im getting x10 times electricity bill!

Did you got average bills for previous months, as amount is many times adjusted. They send Average bills and in one month they recover the whole amount

You were getting lower bills becoz the meter was faulty. They have the right to check and replace the meter.

I used to receive this very long ago. They had made a surprise check & replaced all such faulty meter in our locality.

180 bill in Mumbai that too for MSEDCL is more or less impossible if you are living there. You can install a submeter inside if you think their new meter is faulty.

Lmfao. I have never seen anyone who consumes 20 units on average months after months. Maybe your previous metre was that wheel based one, which got faulty, like ours did and it was replaced with a digital metre. When ours were first installed, the digital one, we also thought the bills were high, however that means units going to 150 from 130 or something, but then we were told the old kind of wheel/ rotor based metres didn’t trigger for low power usages like charging mobiles etc. Not sure how true is that anyway.
