Citibank rewards card, no annual charge if you spent 30,000 in a year.

Also you will get bonus points for first card transactions , birthdays and wedding anniversary.

You will en cash the points if its reached 5k points against rs 1750.

Note : Citibank card services available in all Metro cities and some tier 1 cities.

I have used HDFC, HSBC, ICICI, SBI, SantC, Barclays…didnt try CITI yet.
Credit card selection depends upon your priority and usage discipline, will explain how,

1. Rewards or Cashback: Many credit cards offer reward points programs which allow you to collect points on your purchase.
After good spending(more than a lac), you can earn few thousands of points, which can earn some gift(or vouchers) worth few hundreds!(redemption charges around 70-75 rs are charged).
For ex. I use my card max times, spend around 2-3 lac/ yr . It accumulates around 5000-7000 points n I purchase some vouchers of RS 1500…
Much waiting, right? Then you can find some cashback cards, no hassle of accumulating points; what U spend will give instant cash back !

2. Annual fee or Annual minimum spends or Completely free:
U should get it clarified from the bank(sometimes their representative do not tell U and later it comes to U as surprise). Some banks give free for 1 yr, some need minimum spends, some give it free.
I prefer completely free, since I forget other terms. Once you are used to use card properly with extracting all benefits, you can go with other options too, as those are also attractive ones if U can utilize them.

3. Which bank is better?
I personally found HDFC better for last 10 yrs. However offers keep on changing and some time few banks can rule in offers for few yrs…
For example, HSBC used to give many gifts and credit amount for first time use, etc. But now they have stopped free card and seem to give less benefits. SBI also give occasionally good offers and now a days CITI and StanC is also offering good.
In all, I found ICICI does not give U free card and is less aggressive than their other services or other banks.

4. Use it wisely-
If you can use credit card wisely, it will be very good. No knowledge of usage can lead to additional charges..I have spent few hundreds in first yr…
Get to know all terms and conditions from bank guy. call them when in doubt and clear all doubts…
