I have both variants. The Indian variant is claimed to be “made in India”. The boxes are different in the presence and absence of MEID numbers. I earlier had 2 RCDMA numbers (now converted to 4G-LTE) and still have 1 MTS number. I know the difference from personal experience. When CDMA SIM is inserted in the Indian variant, the phone shows MEID as “0” and the SIM does not catch any network.

thats because of software modifications to the Global rom
Anyone can install any official firmware (Chinese or Global) via fastboot. If there are two different variants this is impossible, you will get incompatibility error
And i am sttill using RCOM CDMA in one of the Redmi note 3 [Made in India] sim slots

when there is no original MEID number assigned to a handset in the first place, it can not be created through firmware. MEID would show all “0” and network authorisation would fail. There are methods of cloning (people were forced to do it in old days of RCDMA) but that is strictly illegal. In any case, it is only for the expert and CDMA will not work out of the box.

But u know
Even with MEID 00000, CDMA works out of the box
I have used RCDMA as my primary data network for like 2 months without making any any changes
I dunno why you are bringing out the thesis when actually i am using RCDMA on my redmi note 3
To be exact, CDMA worked fine with stock version of Redmi note 3 when it was initially released in India (MIUI version 7.1.3.0/7.1.7.0), later with few upgrades to the MIUI version data stopped working although calls n texts were fine But with Chinese firmware it worked fine out of the box
Even with the leaked AOSP Snapdragon stock rom, CDMA works out of the box
