Hi Dimers,

I need a new steam iron, old one Orpat gone bad and dead (bad becos rust is coming out of plate, it not more than 4 months old.. just sick of this from start)

Searched for products within budget of 1k, found this Oster 4420 2000-Watt Steam Iron – good in pocket and looks and feedback is almost average.
http://www.flipkart.com/oster-4420-steam-iron/p...
http://www.amazon.in/Oster-4420-2000-Watt-Steam...

just wanted to check with Dimers, before i hit the pruchase button from amazon listed Oster 4420 2000-Watt Steam Iron @ 1075/- or any better suggestion can you give for any other brand.

if someone have used this one would be very helpful, for sharing his feedback

I am using steam one since last 5-6 yrs, was much happy with my maharaja whiteline one, worked for 5 yrs complete and it died one day. then shifted to orpat one, this was horrible for me, almost daily rust was dropping sole plate, not sure if its was product fault or all have same issues. So i am much comfortable with steam one.
Try steam iron you will never return back to dry ones.. i bet you for this.. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

I am glad you already understand that. CC @A2Zdeals

Don’t buy the Oster one. Get Philips GC1905 (best seller) or Philips GC2820 (smoothest gliding over clothes — a real pleasure to use).

One warning: Philips GC2820 requires a 15amp 3-pin socket as it’s a 2000-watt model.

Update:

Philips GC1905: http://www.amazon.in/Philips-GC1905-1440-Watt-S...
Philips GC2820: http://www.flipkart.com/philips-gc2820-steam-ir...

Thanks @DealSeeker for suggesting
Initially i was looking for GC1095, then i got report its coating is not durable. GC1920 is better than that as it have golden american heritage coating, some time back it was of 1.3k i just missed it…

then the urgency came @home to get iron ASAP, so further reserach take me to oster one.

Edit -
GC2820 is best in 2k price segment, but its out of budget now.. https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif
