Need Urgent Help - Laptop Screen Crack HP

Hey guys,
i have hp laptop , my laptop screen has been cracked, its in warrnty still, i have took ADP also on that time , but cc sayng its valid for 1st year only, nd i have to pay now for display etc,
any1 have idea what to do now..?

but you should tell them that you had an accident (like bike skid due to oil on road) etc.
Screen Replacement Cost 3100 to 3500 Rs including labour charges, with one to Six Months warranty for new Screen, at local repair centres…

His 1 Year is over. After 1 Year there is no ADP…

Spoke bhai aap to bahot kutch jante ho Gujarat k bare me. You know that Rajkot is smaller than Surat and has less facilities than Surat or Ahmedabad.
BTW you wrote amdavaad in Daya style (tarak mehta ka oolta chasma)

Yes, if its got 1 or 2 yrs extended warranty… BTW some companies like Toshiba claim to replace all parts except battery and HDD… Can’t say about others but their responses do vary from time to time… Toshiba replaced top part and bottom part of the body of the lappy when hinges broke after 1-yr had passed and I had 2yrs extended warranty but they refused to replace battery after 1 year… My Compaq lappy’s HDD crashed after 14mts and HP didn’t replace as 1yr warranty period had expired.

i too hv hp laptop. it came with 1 year full warranty and i bought 3 years ADP. Battery + charger are covered only for 1 year but other things for 3 years.It is almost 2 years old now. In fact , last week white lines appeared on screen and they replaced it without asking question but replacement screen was too yellowish which i refused to take. Now i am waiting for their update else i would call them in coming week.

NOT completely his mistake this time. he was caught unawares and did not get the opportunity to place the laptop away.

every-time i see some of your ‘in problem’ posts now.. i am reminded of Raveena Tandon’s character (from andaaz apna apna i think) who is prone to tripping or keeps falling over things. [i am still in awe and sometimes think of where your mystery bank balance credits came from. aapke saath hee yeh haadsa hua tha na?]
anyway..
if you are/ laptop is in Rajkot and if you have a reliable shop/person for after market repairs (OEM) then check with their quotes too.
If Rajkot doesn’t have much, then try Surat (or amdavaad) or Bambai.
1] pay HP authorised (or self owned) service venter whatever they asked for.
2] if O.E.M. replacement of acceptable quality can be replaced at a value-price, then try that.
3] if you are okay with second hand, then check if any e-scrap dealers or shops have the same model with a working monitor .. and cannibalise.
4] @bk08 unapproved way might be (and i myself am not too proud saying this); to fib to the extended/ADP warranty people and get a new cover. (without disclosing pre-existing illness.<a href=“http://cdn1.desidi...om ”https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor..." alt=“redface” border=“0”/>"><img src=“http://cdn1.desidi...om ”https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor..." alt=“redface” border=“0”/>">)
5] if time pressure is not there and you got the patience or will to get things through; then buy the replacement display off ebay or aliexpress type place. Get its cargo’ed to you and then; you yourself can open up the lappy and do the needful or get it done from some experience technician.
Note: 3] and 5] are very much possible in Bambai, either exclusively or as a package. [Kurla has this big graveyard with an exclusive area of computers/laptops scrap shops ONLY. i myself once found an old model whose swivel hinge i took. (though eventually i got a new one fabricated, for the peace of mind.)]
Lamington: i forget the exact name or location presently. but near this old (cinema) theatre there is this office/shop on the first floor where even the actual service support people take help from. They do all kinds of magic for all kinds of brands. (exclusively deals in laptop hardware repairs only, so its a niche place.)
