Never Buy From Greendust : The truth behind factory seconds

I m with you. Never dealt with them in past and won’t do any dealings in future as well

dont buy high value items. max 2-3k should be bought on greendust

Some of desidimers posted deals from greendust and it also had many smilies (some were FPD too)… So I had a wrong impression about them…

I never knew that they sell scrap for the name of “Factory Seconds”…

Got a call from Greendust, when I used the return item option from their website…

They asked me to Ship-Back the bulky scrap of TV at my cost…
They’ll deduct 10% from the total amount I paid as a restocking fee after verifying the item…

So they are gaining both ways, and who knows they’ll return my money even if I ship the item back…

High time dimers voted for deals instead of deal posters. There is a gang here in DD who keep voting up each other’s deals just to show their deep friendship.

See how people suffer because of green faces. Never vote up or down a deal if you are not very sure about the product and the store.

As far as I know, we cannot raise a chargeback request when we use net-banking. Experienced dimers should throw some light on this.

There is no such chargeback for netbanking I guess… and buddy you made a mistake by going for a factory second product.
If your budget was low you could have bought a used product offline after verifying all the stuff.
Coming to green faces for products, I have almost commented on each and every Greendust topic to alert dimers if a product is a factory second product.
On the other hand I have voted up for most of the surplus stock products as I had good experience with them in the past.
You should contact Akosha now don’t know if they can help with factory second products.

sorry to say but 2 mistakes

the seconds are the products used in display and they run continously and others are repaired ones. so its better to buy second hand in local city after inspection. I guess nobody will buy second hand car online.

another was that you placed 2 orders. This was costly and blind trust.

Now I am not sure if GC is wrong….afterall they have to find another bakra which will take lot of time, energy and money of them. so this 10% and courier charges are for the mala they used on you as bakra.

Hope you will atleast get back 85% of money.

bought a roti maker from them.. one time got replacement.. second time.. i just forgot it.. its lying idle.
they took 1 whole month for reverse pickup.. will never suggest

“Factory Seconds” doesn’t imply that they are allowed to sell scrap in name of factory seconds. I was ok with first order as it was in a working condition atleast… Therefore I placed the second order…

As far as finding bakra’s is concerned, I dont’ think Online Selling is anything about making fool of public, It’s more of a matter of trust. It’s as simple as “If I or anyone known feel cheated by a site; I’ll probably never shop from that site”.

Surprisingly Greendust is not wrong according to you, even though they are fooling customers by selling scrap material in the name of “Factory Seconds”, and using the phrase “1 year warranty” without actually providing the service… what more to say.

I am not out of my mind to say that Greendust is doing right. Infact they should post photos of each and every seconds product because they are not factory sealed and hence every product is different.
But I was also making a point that they made you bakra whether you like it or not. Now I hope you get your money but accept that you are in India.

Bro, if Online shopping is nothing but making fools of customer, You must not be at Desidime. Dont’ take it in a negative way, but to me online shopping is a way to save money and time both.

I had posted this thread so that others can avoid greendust in future for buying factory seconds…
There are good shopping sites and bad shopping sites, Not all sites are looking for making bakras of public. There are some sites which think beyond MTV shows and do serious business.
Discussing an issue in public sometimes attract solutions.
and finally we are all normal people and at one or another time everyone is fooled. This was my turn and I just warned people here to avoid becoming fools by the same site again….

I could not agree more. I also recently purchased a 20" LG FACTORY SECOND monitor. I was shocked as well as surprised that they have indeed sent me a rigorously used item (which is evident from the scratches and worn out paint from the buttons). Anyone who buy an FACTORY SECOND from GREENDUST need to expect all this. The only good thing is that the monitor works flawlessly. A piece of advice to GREENDUST guys, “You should put the original pic of the item to be delivered and should call the item as SECOND HAND, calling it FACTORY SECOND makes no sense”

I have never bought any product from Greendust, but bought a Factory Seconds Onida Split AC from Gobol.in. The outdoor and indoor units were of different models, but is working perfectly fine. Their customer care support is also great. I gave then a specific date for delivery and they made sure that the unit was delivered on that date.

The definition we all consider is as : products which has failed quality inspection due to cosmetic or technical issues.

BUT it actually means.

A product which was used by someone and sold in scrap or e-waste picked up by GreenDust; repaired and sold at 10 times of the scrap value.

dont you think everybody has right to loot helpless customers of India because of great law.
If people can sell duplicates and even seconds then they are still giving you warning and not charging full amount.

ab kuch unhe bhi lootne ka chance do or you like to be duped by some fav shops only

I have purchased many items from Green Dust. 3 laptops, 2 Camera, 1 hairdryer, Philips Speakers, 3 mobiles and few more things.
Never found anything used or marks of used. Yes marks of repair was possible to be found but you cant view such from outside visible area.

TV Fridges are different kind of items, You buy and forget to change for next 5-10 years. Specially refrigerator.

Washing machine you use 3 days and it has marks of using.

Laptop and mobiles are nowadays changed every 2-4 years.Camera too

So for long duration items, TVs – which are part of good times better to buy from Green Dust showroom – inspect before you buy. Done depend on online always.

There is a specific distinction between factory seconds and refurbished products.

Factory Seconds are products with minor defects that have been rejected in the testing phase. They are not supposed to have been used even once. Refurbished products are products that have been used and sent back to the factory for replacement as part of warantee or any other reason and then repaired to be sold again.

If greendust is selling refurbished products in the name of factory seconds then they are resorting to unetical business practices and should be nailed for that.

Ur money got dusted !

New sites shouldn’t be trusted . However cheap they may give . Once site had come in between was giving costly shoes of Rs 15k or so at Rs 3.5k .

Consumer Forum will take 2 yrs I think
