New DD Feature: Thread Vote Details Now Visible
Guys,
I just discovered that the tech team has finally implemented a feature which I requested for repeatedly — anonymous details of negative votes for every thread. Thank you @admin and the tech team for taking care of this!
Deal posters, now you need not wonder why your “loot” deal got some red faces. 
Simply hover over the smiley faces visible next to the thread title and discover the reasons for the negative votes.

One things is missed here..if Vu an Vd are eual, we wont know

i noticed this thread now and it was one of my first reactions.. that wow man!! the more things change, the more they remain the same.
it is like,
it is of no use still if people are just hell bent to negg and top it by selecting random thing in drop-down.
(thus rendering the whole thing futile.. or to the extent where it may not be possible to know of the genuine reasons from the ‘i just wanted to neg’ ones)
now i really have to reconsider how best to avoid righting my reasons in ‘other’ open-ended box. i do not down-vote much, but most of the time state the reason in ‘others’ if it is a mix of the other reasons.
now it looks like choosing ‘other’ may only add to the confusion to the deal poster

offhand i don’t remember but under view (html) source, i remember seeing some stats mentioned in those days
it was either the like count or vote count
and i think it would be there in the ‘view source’ even if the GUI would show ‘nothing’ after the votes cancelled each other out fully.

Coming to the other reason the reason should be visible to every one as they can understand why the deal got negatives..

that is exactly the thing Sekhar Anna. this impasse is hard to bridge and i doubt that even telepathic mind-reading too can be 100% effective

in-fact, to take that feature away when the ‘classic’ interface was scrapped
was in itself a very undesirable development.
For those who do not know, the more robust, albeit old worldly ‘Original’ Desidime interface (or the one prior to Desidime new look)
had these stats. feature and now it has only been reintroduced.. aka the new site DD 3.0 has been patched 2-years after it should have been.

multiple constraints in that,
though I can only think or or articulate a few.
foremost being that SUCH content isn’t censored/moderated, so the biggest challenge would be to keep the decorum.

unlike trying to muffle my karma log essays (now < 160 char.) , the fields for Admin/FPD alert and the Votedown text box are rather open.
so there is NO WAY to accommodate such texts if three-four people have put long reasons or texts.
like, i often put the combined reason like repost and spam (FPD greed) and add the link of the previous topic on posts of habitually greedy posters.

i put the other reason → http://www.desidime.com/selective_search?utf8=✓...=
usually I myself keep the track of my DD activity by saving such details in bookmarks and if needed, I follow-up directly with the poster.
(or if its spammer, then with site in-charges.)
