Samartphone brand is samsung galaxy s7 edge. Moreover i changed my sim to normal basic handset, then too am not receiving OTP.

Your number is blocked on one of the SMS gateways.
So what needs to be done to get this resolved? These are bank OTP’s and nothing else 
..
i have faced same problem in airtel no after too many complaint tried evrything and failed to otp comes then MNP to bsnl and otp comes within seconds
That’s a different problem. I moved from Vodafone to Airtel and the problem persists. In fact, when I was using Vodafone, I had spoken to an engineer from their network operations team who listed out each SMS that had entered their system and delivered to me. They were 100% sure that the SMS that I am talking about had not entered their system. But they were not able to tell me the source of Amex OTP and others.
I suspect it is a DND issue..
try deactivating it (if you have activated it) and wait for 7 days and check..
Its definitely not a DND issue as im able to receive SMS in another mobile number, same operator which is activated with Full DND. I suppose there is something which i could not reiterate.
DND was activated way back and im facing issues only for a week back.
As far as I know, For Amex card otp doesn’t come if you are doing transaction on international platforms.
I just want to reiterate that im receiving OTP’s to email ID but not to mobile number. Whichever site is asking for OTP ( Both local and international) OTP’s are getting delivered to email but not to mobile.
idbi bank has otp sending issues too.
Oh is it? there are several issues with banking OTP’s
on same boat from last 12-13 years….voda number ported to jio but still problem persists…….it has something to do with gateway used and specific to few mobile series…
why the gateway block the series? why is that so?
Now i started receiving OTP’s from some banks, However Aadhar OTP’s and Amex OTP’s are having issues.
I feel like an issue intermittently. What could be the reason. Any idea guys? I have a secondary number in the same mobile with the same operator but im receiving OTP’s without any issues.

This is for everybody’s attention who is not receiving OTP’s. You can identify the operator and the circle from which you were able to receive SMS previously. For example, Im not receiving SMS from series TM . TM here stands for Tata teleservice from Mumbai who has blocked my number. Hope this helps to identify the issue.
First service provider followed by service Circle. T- Service provider M- Service circle
I noticed that BSNL has completely blocked messages from airtel’s operator code A
I am not getting any sms from
AW- AD- AX- AE- AB- AC- AM- AG- AP- AB- AA- etc prefixes
eg: no sms from AD-AADHAR, AX-AADHAR, AX-AIRTEL AW-AIRTEL, AX-MOBIKW ,AX-Ipaytm , AX-INDUSB, AX-PAYZAPP, AX-SBICRD AX-AIRBNK AW-AIRBNK etc
I confirmed this with other bsnl numbers too same problem tried with at least 4 bsnl numbers no BSNL number received message from above senders

Was going through the same issue a while back, just posting what had happened.
I suddenly stopped receiving Citibank credit card OTPs. No issues with other bank OTPs. It turned out that the other SIM card on my phone – the one which was registered with Citi, was turned off because I had activated airplane mode at some point. I only had to turn the SIM back on and my OTP issue was resolved.
This may be because you have enabled DND, try Stopping DND if enabled.
I was facing similar issue of not receiving OTP from HDFC on airtel on 2 phones. But it got fixed once I ported out of airtel to vodafone. However, I would receive automated phone call with the OTP but it was usually after the expiry of the OTP time limit.
The secondary SIM is blocking the jio sms in your inbox. Just disable your secondary SIM while trying to retrieve the otp from Jio. Once you get the otp you can enable your SIM.

How? Did it require any action on your part?
Check if you’ve blocked any unknown numbers, they impact SMS too… Also check in SMS if you’ve blocked the AQ/BQ names etc, unblock all of them and then try the OTP Again.
Sometimes, the spam protection and the Lookup can cause these issues in Android phones, test them and check for any results..
Guys I am facing this same issue since last 4 days.. I am not receiving OTP only for Amex txns. Receiving for all other bank cards.. it was working perfectly fine before 4 days.. Amex customer says they are sending SMS.. Who should I reach out to for resolution? It’s Airtel SIM and Samsung galaxy S20 phone..
