Now HDFC Visa/Mastercard pay 0.40% MDR charges transaction upto Rs2000 -
MDR of 0.40% will be applicable on transaction up to Rs 2000 for all non RuPay domestic debit card payments.
Effective from 24th feb, 2020 and one-time recovery of MDR for transaction between 1st jan to 23th feb, will be done subsequently.

It means more merchants will now add “extra charge” for payment using card instead of cash/upi qr.
