Octroi for Mumbai?

I am guessing nobody had to pay Ictroi – or is it the wrong board to post this?

Guys, help me out here. I don’t want to buy a 10k mobile and end up spending an extra 500 bucks.

EDIT for the first post: I did get the refund from BTP.

i have paid more than 3k as octroi till date.

any info on octroi charged by HOME SHOP 18 on laptops sent to mumbai. has any one paid octroi while buying laptops online from HS18, Flipkart, snapdeal etc

its depends on location in pune

in pune aundh area is where they charge octroi so better give the shipping area around PCMC specially hinjewadi to avoid octroi

what about octroi to mumbai locations. had spoken to one CC exec on HS18.. he said only 200-300 octroi on laptops to mumbai.

i bought a laptop from samsung estore shipment was from Agra …… no octroi was paid, but after two months i got a call from soemoen saying i need to pay 3k octroi I refused, I called up the company and asked them they said no octroi is to be paid so I shot off a letter with the subject “extortion” to the customer care with one marked to the CEO and another to the top people in Korea.

Got a call in 5 minutes or maybe 4 minutes, assuring me no octroi was to be paid and they would handle it they also gave me their personal contact numbers in case of any future problems and they told me i could contact them at any time and not to worry i wouldn’t be harassed etc …

I said ok …. but if i get a call from anyone in samsung again i’ll send a fax straight to the CEO in Korea.

I never heard from them again asking for octroi.

So chekc with customercare if octroi is included and record the call, later they most likely will ask for octroi its a trick they play, when they do you have the evidence so kick their asses hard.

HS18 people told there might or might not be octroi to mumbai.

FLIPKART said the price shown on the product page is final and no other charges. even their website shows as no octroi or sales tax

generally Octroi is to be paid by the seller. had issue with bluedart in Pune. Got refunded from pepperfry. had rejected the product. Then pepperfry asked to pay octroi and send them scanned copy.

It took almost 45 days for the process. Next time skipped Pepperfry.
