This is not first time Olacabs did something like this and probably that’s why the trusted customers are moving to other service providers.

Same experience had happened to me as well 2-3 times in a single day. Complained to Ola Cabs not even a courtesy call received just got their Pre-canned sorry response and the refund!

I agree they’re getting worse day by day!

In Bangalore , Uber drivers are doing the same. Faced 3-4 times in just a span of 15 days.

This is common with Ola drivers. Has happened to me many times. I keep waiting for the cab and after 10 minutes if I check the app it shows the ride is ongoing.
Then I’ve to call Ola support for refund of Ola money, and Ola does not even help with booking another cab for this scenario. Twice after a cab driver had cheated me like this, the next cab I booked had surge pricing. Ola did not help with this either in anyway. Ola support sucks big time. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_rolleyes.gif

This has never happened to me maybe because I pay by cash so in any case I can’t be duped of money. But my experience with ola is so so and even with uber its the same. In a sense I find ola more sensible with no surge charges.

More than the drivers i would blame the companies such as Ola, Uber for this mess. I have been using both Ola and Uber in multiple cities over the last 2 years. Ola works best in Chennai provided you are willing to pay in cash( No Ola money Saar!) while Uber is decent in Bangalore/delhi for shorter trips. If your trip distance is > 10-12 Kms, then the likelihood of Uber driver ditching you is very high irrespective of the city they operate in.

Gone are those days when taxi drivers preferred longer trips over the shorter one’s. Most drivers these days are only interested to cover minimum 14-16 trips to become eligible for incentives. Uber & Ola is aware of what is going on under their nose but they choose to remain silent fearing driver attrition and valuation markdown. As per the VC nerds who funds companies such as Ola, more number of rides= more customers = more business. More ride on papers means better chances of funding. To hell with bottom lines and customer satisfaction is moto of Ola, Uber these days. Majority of customer complaints on Ola/Uber FB, Twitter page is related to driver initiated cancellation and rides without picking up customers. This issue has been going on for over a year now and it is shocking that technology firms such as Ola, Uber could not fix it or rather they don’t have the will to fix it.

I believe few of you guys might have read about recent agitations by Uber/Ola drivers in Bangalore. Thousands of Ola, Uber drivers blocked the roads leading to Bangalore city from airport for a few hours since they felt government was being unfair to them by asking them to follow the rules of the land. I’m glad that KA government didn’t give in to the pressure tactics and acted with iron fist. After the above mentioned incident, There is no surcharge by Ola, Uber in Bangalore from last 2 weeks. In-fact, even cancellations by drivers have comes down a lot.

The main crux of the problem is the opaque working nature of companies such as Uber. If there is an serious issue such as accident , Uber would not interfere and they would shrug away from responsibility by claiming that they are only aggregators and not radio cab companies. I’m usually not in favor of regulating any industry which is driven by market demand but when it comes to taxi aggregators, governments in some states( KA, Delhi) did an excellent job by bringing them under the ambit of the law.

Ola is ******…. This kind of incident has happened with me a lot of times with ola… Their drivers most of the times cancel the ride as soon as we tell them destination and then they don’t even take pains to cancel the ride on their own.. When I again call to cancel the ride…drivers rudely say that if you are in hurry u cancel I will only cancel after sometime… And after 10 minutes I get a message saying.. Our driver partner had to cancel the ride as you were not able to be contacted blah blah…
