Hello,
I know most the dimers are aware of those fake Uber/ Ola trips. I just found a conversation about this on Twitter, and it is interesting as she talks about the other side of the fraud.

Maybe ola gives some fixed incentive with every ride on cash , so more fake rides , more is the profit.

I have seen them using the software…it was modded for ola drivers and they just change their car location and ola reads that location and makes the bill.
They just make sure that not much distance was covered in less time…

Ola gives incentives to drivers when they achieve a certain number of trips, but a good number drivers take fake trips to reach the goals. The actual number of the real number of trips are very less.
Yesterday, I took an UberX to attend a meeting. The driver started bugging me as soon as the trip began to book a trip on Ola. I have to travel around one hour in his cab, so I did that after installing the Ola app. I asked about the incentives scheme of Ola and surprised, ~5k as incentives if the achieve five trips in a day. The trips are using cash payment, and he also gets money from Uber. So he gets 5K without doing much work, and he also makes money from Uber, around ~ 6K.
My trip was in the morning ~10 AM and it was his 3rd fake trip.
That adds up 10K*30 = 3 Lakh, which is near the annual salary of many educated graduates.
I don’t have a problem with the drivers making money from this. But this kind of easy money going to make big menace in near future.
Nig*er, He didn’t have manners and interrupted me while checking the emails. He even pushed me to install the Ola apps by sharing his hotspot.
I’m sure many dimers can share more into this topic

Everything is fair , when it comes to cheating / fraud .
When dimers can do cheating / fraud with companies , why not the drivers ?

I didn’t understand that Hindi part. Are they saying they are not even driving the car? It would be great if someone can translate the hindi.

OMG never imagined this type of loot sure drivers made hell heck of money than dimmers, still I believe some sort of uber loot still going ON, proof: WhatsApp group…
Correct me if i am wrong even if they spoof the location GPS what about the money part that they have to pay OLA

Most of the fraud happens with drivers, The fraud going on with the users are negligible comparing to that. Uber learned that in a hard way in China.

They dont care because they fake short trips worth around ₹50-₹150. Their main income is from the incentives they get from the number of trips they complete i.e. how many customers they service.
If I remember right the Ola driver could get around 7k in incentives for completing 12 rides in a day. This is apart from the daily minimum guaranteed income and income from every fare.

I can see many WhatsApp groups filled with buyers and sellers of uber ride. Almost every seller book 20-25 rides per day of which around 10 are unlimited ride. These groups are running since months. Just guess the amount of money lost by uber due to user (fraud??).

No… Uber is more careful in money matters. It might be able to get free rides as of now but in the future, if Ola goes down the drain then Uber will start taking us for a costly ride.

Tel-aviv is a heaven for the real tech startups. Less noise than the valley, but they really fast paced. Don’t miss if you get a chance to visit.
India is an another china in making, we have a lot of problems to solve to reach at that level.
