Cool. But the thing I was trying to convey was what ought to be done in such cases. The ultimate aim being making it a better place to live, not allowing companies which don’t follow standard norms to exist. They should not take us for granted which is happening in this case.

I see more admins and “C” level (as in CEO, CFO, CTO) employees these days engaging in discussions on the forum which was rare in recent past. This is really good, instead of being ghost at once in a blue moon.

About the issue at hand Azaadi 251 : I think the issue is too pre-mature to comment on. We are always so quick to jump on conclusions and blame DesiPaisa for it. Its really purely a matter of personal choice to invest Rs.250+(1 dakshina) in this phone or not. When we rejected free internet (free basics) and all gimmicks that too by a brand like FB, then we are more than smart for this issue too. As said by someone (may be BeingHuman) you can’t stop people from investing in this device.

See this is the problem, India’s core competence is “cheap”, not the best. And quite obviously Indians are the lowest paid professionals (at least in the technology side), so whether it’s Nano, Mangalyan or #Freedom251 we will always land up making the cheapest, and certainly not the best. I would’ve a zillion times happier if we had tabled a product that could take on the might of iPhone or HTC. Also I’m sure this product will come with its own set of issues battery drains, call drops and more fatal radiation related concerns.

Well that is precisely the thing. Making people educated enough so that they can think on their own and not simply follow others.

So I suggested some things which might make that possible. And regarding blaming I am not blaming but trying to enquire bit more.

How can you blame admin for Promoting a deal when you have no evidence that the company is
actually doing fraud business !

He has all his assumptions to back him self !

Instead of requesting Admins he Switched on Threating Mode on and Was ready to post article/inform Media about Desidime

That will make the issue flagged, I Dont think it will be against Dd, Dd must have legel consultant for the protection that they r not responsible for 3rd party failure to fulfill the promise.

Section 120B can be invoked for any such concipiracy, which tantamounts to equally sevear punishment with the initiator /culprit. Dd is running 5+ companies with international tieup along with bread and butter of 100 families, which r insiders.

The parent company – Ringing Bells is showing nothing in its website about its launch. The coverage by mashable, gizmodo and other good agencies is pretty much superficial. Looks like a job done by interns.

Thanks for taking my post in a positive manner. Reason for me opening up this thread is to ask DesiDime Administrators take an action on behalf of its users. You can’t expect the broad users to be as educated as you are or in some case users are not expected to go through posts in details… They will simply see a Rs 251 phone being sold and being written on homepage of DesiDime, and then will simply follow the link and will pay the money. And this is how the majority of those 5 lakh+ users use Desidime.

Regarding my research on the topic, I have read atleast 20+ articles on this at various sources, and the net-sum is “Freedom 251” as of now is “All GAS”. Nothing on ground.

Again I would request you to answer my post on point-to-point basis rather than giving your broad holistic answer, which appears to come without reading the arguments raised by me.

Regarding Newspaper Coverage, I guess you might have ever heard of a term called they will “Presstitutes”, used to describe how they work… If you throw money at them, they will do anything to please you. So to bring YOU out of YOUR VIRTUAL WORLD, go and check the 3rd and 4th page of any Hindi National Daily (Dainik Bhaskar, Rajasthan Patrika, Punjab Kesri etc etc), you will find lots of advertisements saying “ghar baithe lakhon kamayein”, “Videsh jaaye and Bank mein Manager ban Jaayein” etc etc… What does that mean?? Does appearing in an Advertisement puts a legitimacy to your Business?? A BIG NO…

PS: And I never said going to any official channel. I call myself an active and responsible Netizen and I believe in power of Online discussion communities… So there are lots of them to get your voice heard.

After seeing replies of @admin I do think that it’s a geniun Deal,but it can be a fraud,so requesting our admins n moderator’s those who have thought or came to a solution that Freedom 251 is a geniun Deal, do have a safer side for our members who have paid the amount for buying the phone. safer side like incase they don’t send the phone dd will help dimer’s for recovering the amount.

And dimer’s for helping this greatest community I’ll request all the dimer’s that if you buy anything from Amazon, flipkart etc do go through dd link, don’t use any cb site’s do let our community earn some buck’s so that we all can keep this awesome community running!

Sub: This is not a ‘Threat’ thread, rather its a ‘suggestion’ thread.

If you can see ‘aniey72, is my Pseudo identity.. So from where does the question of Publicity comes? And the thing which you are calling as “Threat” was “Noise”, an age-old practice used by persons with no official representation, but a valid point to be heard by top echelons. It can’t be expressed in words, only a fair amount of reading will make you understand my point of ‘Noise’. To start with you may read articles on why “Shaheed Sh. Bhagat Singh and Shaheed Sh. Batukeshwar Dutt, threw noise bombs in Assembly”… The motive was not to disrupt the proceedings of the Assembly.. Rather to make people listen to their Arguments. After writing to admins in different threads when I couldn’t get a response and action from them, then creation of this thread was the solution to make them listen to me". Having said that, we can discuss these things on PM/Chat and then you can Copy-paste your opinion about me on this thread. But lets not digress from the main discussion.

Also, can you please read my original post word-by-word, one more time?? You will realize, the emphasis is never on the issues that are being unnecessarily dragged so far… Issue is, I felt something that can surely make DesiDime a better place and forum, and I shared the same with admins in 2-3 different posts… But there wasn’t any reply..

So, through this thread I have raised the issue that DesiDime should make a reputation of being considered a Trusted and Professional Forum, rather than becoming a Newspaper Like Punjab Kesari or Dainik Bhaskar (or other hindi daily). And to achieve this apart from solid IT backend, the front end of this forum, i.e. moderators should also be a bit professional. And by being professional I mean, they must follow some guidelines and rules (like what were tried 2-3 months back regarding trading) arrived after doing in-depth discussions and also taking some advice from Experts as well.

Now coming to the issue of promotion of this deal… Let me put some more reasons for not allowing deals like Freedom (and Shopiwo and sabkadukaan)…
- Desidime is a forum which users follow and participate to save some bucks on their online shopping.
- If a user who normally does online shopping worth Rs 10,000 per month then by using Desidime, he/she can definitely save something (maybe Rs 1000)
- But suppose after every 2-3 months DesiDime ends up promoting a deal which later turns out to be fraud, then it might result in that user losing 5-10k rupees.
- POINT IS: DesiDime must exercise caution while putting its weight (or endorsing) behind a deal. Not promoting a few good deal isn’t gonna hurt someone, but promotion of a single ‘Fake’ deal will result in irreparable loss of reputation and lots of monetary loss for thousands of users.

PS: Have to rush for some work… Will revisit this post after 2 hours to make my point a bit clear to understand. I request everyone to exercise Calmness and also Gentleman-ship while discussion.

who said 6L orders per second? it was number of hits not orders. company said ~30k orders were able to go through yesterday.

That all despite me talking with extreme politeness… And now, when the things are getting more and more clear, then nobody is daring to talk to @admin, @anthrax.ut, @Nigel, @bumblefoot and other Moderators of DD, to make them realize that they Must listen to somebody who is trying to speak for betterment of DesiDime Community.

PS: Now since this Freedom251 is a thing of Past, I expect DD Management to make some changes in this Forum’s structure and create a formal/official way for DD public to communicate, discuss and talk with Admins regarding good and bad things about DesiDime. More important is DesiDime Management should be more open to listening (if the argument is for betterment of DesiDime), rather than keeping their Egos in-between. Being at a official post, your first responsibility comes for the sustainability of the company you are running, followed by the interest of the users/stakeholders who are using your Forums, then at last comes your personal preferences. But in present scenario the priorities of DD admins are all randomized, with last priority taking the first place.
Last but not least, In any discussion, be Graceful… You must not use un-parliamentary language or insult the other person (even to a smallest extent) while talking to any user of DesiDime (Like Admin used in response to my open letter).
