Payback Card - many issues

Is anybody currently having issues using their Payback card number online? Or for logging into the account?

I was unable to use it last night. It says “Your PAYBACK card number is invalid. Please call our call center @ 1860-258-5000 for assistance”.

Thought it might be a temporary issue, but till now I get the same message when I try to use my card number for buying or logging into my account.

Even otherwise, I’m not very happy with Payback. It has almost always been a pain to use this card. They almost never credit the points automatically, despite me following their procedure. I have to keep sending them my order details manually, and its really messy. There is no transparency in their statement, as its impossible to make out how many points they have credited for what. They just enter it as Goodwill points. Often they enter much less than what I’d earned. For eg. for my last Freecultr purchase, they credited 40 points instead of 400… and that too not automatically; but after me emailing the order details.

Are others having similar issues? And more importantly, are your card numbers working right now on their site?

I called their phone number and the dame who was hardly coherent simply said wait for 24 hours as it could be a site issue. There was no point arguing with her, as she wasn’t comprehending most of what I was saying.

I’m able to login….. even i faced issues with payback, they refunded my points only after raising complaint for failed transactions.

I am able to login to my account and its fine

What happened to your account is it suspended

^^^Thats what I’m trying to find out! The half wit CC exec said everything is fine and its a site issue. Try after 24 hours. I said it didn’t work yesterday either. After a long hold, she just repeats try again after 24 hours. So I have no way of knowing. And I don’t think I’v given them any reason at all to suspend my account.

In fact I’m the one who has spent much time trying to keep track of their stupid points and poor service. I should be the one doing the suspending. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_evil.gif

Anyway, have mailed them. But they will take their time… while I urgently need to buy few things.

Do u have multiple payback cards

^^^No. Only one. But after that I got an ICICI Credit Card, so in that sense I would have 2 accounts with them. But that should be hardly against their t&c.

Anyway, called them again, and this time was told that card has been disabled due to “technical reasons”. She took a complaint for the same. No further explanation offered despite asking. I asked if I can redeem the accumulated points. She said not possible now, since its disabled. I would have to wait until their back end team responds.

So they just disable cards with no explanation and no valid reason. Really crappy service. Now have to just wait and see how they respond. Meanwhile I made some purchases without the card… no option, can’t wait indefinitely. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_evil.gif Some I decided not to make, as without the points, they weren’t attractive enough.

^^^Sorry saw this just now. Wish DD had a better way of finding out which threads have activity.

The card block issue got resolved after several days. But several other issues with PB remain. Most importantly being points not being credited for most transactions, despite following their procedure perfectly every time.

If you bring it to their notice, you get told that there were minimum purchase limits (which are not mentioned anywhere), etc., etc. The statement is as opaque as it can get, and you can never tell which transactions have actually earned points and how much. In short, in every way the system is rigged so that you get shortchanged by way more than half the points that you would have earned otherwise.

I urge every user to keep a hawk eye on their statements. Anybody else facing similar issues?
