Hi all,
I need your guidance. a friend of mine deposited the amount of rs. 3000 in wrong account no. instead of despositing it into my account ( Last 2 digits interchanged).
Payment was desposited through via.com.I spoke to my bank they said give written complaint in branch (which i did today).I personal spoke to the manager also , his attitude was not so helpful, he said money can be only refunded if second party gives the approval in written or through cheque. i also request for contact no. of the party but they refused.
Please give some alternatives.

Show the receipt to the bank that you intended to pay this person (yourself) in this a/c where a/c no is wrong. And say its mistake at both your and bank’s end.
Keep following up with the bank, they will do the needful.

that I know.but how can I get contact no. of the person as bank has refused to provide me the contact no.

U cn get it From the bank ,who might not be willing to tell u ..take help of employee.

Keep asking them to contact third party
Make written request
Mail there head office
And other higher authority
Ask them to give in wriitten that they had contacted 3rd person and he is not returning fund
Approach the bank again. Tell them it was mistakeny credited to him. You guys please once follow up with third party for approval to refund back as it wrongly credited and ask if not ,what is the step you have to follow to get back the amount. Usually third party agrees most of the case
Whoever transferred the money tell them even if one info mismatches they shouldn’t do the transaction. When I do my transaction if I mistakenly type wrong name it wont complete the transaction
No Bro,, As per RBI rules, only Account number is used for funds transfer.
According to the Reserve bank of India, it is the remitter’s responsibility to link and transfer money correctly by cross checking the account number and name of the beneficiary and banks will not be held responsible. Also, the bank account number is what matters+
and other details such as beneficiary’s name and the bank’s IFSC code is just additional information. Verification of these two details should be done by the bank but it is not a rule.
One alternate way could be that if u know someone senior in the bank any branch… I think they are authorized or have contacts to get it done. You can give it a try.
Atleast CITI didn’t crosscheck name across account number.
Personal experience : My brother and father have account in same branch.(same ifsc code). I transferred using account number of one and name of other and the transfer did go through.
First of all giv written application of whatever happened which includes amount, way of transfer (neft/rtgs/imps), source of transfer (wallet/bank/site), nd other sufficient information ND dan contact via.com nd tell dem to giv dat bank intimation for reversal may be dat can help…
In my case I transferred same way imps from oxi app bank didn’t helped me after regular bank follow up mailed oxi nd told dem d matter nd oxi cc helped for reversal…

Acc to rbi only acc no is considered..name is not considered

Payment was made through travel agent he transfer through via (they do transactions and the have rights like other money exchanger etc.
