Hello everyone,

My PC is running very slow these days. Its not my primary PC but a sort of secondary one. When I click on the icons, it takes 1-2 minutes to just open the respective window. There is considerable free space available in all the drives. The PC is running on Windows 7.

Few things I have tried-
1) Deleted all temporary files
2) Tried removing some resource hungry games & other memory consuming softwares.

What can I do? Can anyone give me some suggestions to make the PC run faster? Tnx in advance!

One more thing- the C drive has lots of folders with alphanumeric names like a3hdfhfj38j94rr9t4tj6y69hhjh etc. Can it be a cause for slowing down the computer? What are these folder exactly?

It might be some malware/viruses. Install Avast and schedule a boot time scan and delete all the identified malwares during scanning

Backup required data. Re-Install windows. Make sure to wipe C drive. If none of this works, its time to upgrade or dump it.
